Pony Island Restaurant

We were welcomed with coffee almost before our butts hit the chairs. Our server, Daniel, was promptly at our table with a smile to take our order. Tasty omelettes and hash browns arrived in the blink of an eye, and Daniel frequently checked on our meal and topped off our coffee. Delicious food, excellent service, and reasonable prices- positives all the way around!

LarderRoom...Brunch at the Pony Island Restaurant in Ocracoke, NC wouldn't be complete with a huge slice of Country Ham! The picture does not justice. That is a slab of delicious salty ham. Now bring on the French Toast, Pancakes and that thick Black Coffee! Nothing better than a big southern breakfast before a day in the SUN with the family!

We begin our annual visit each summer to Ocracoke Island with breakfast at Pony Island Restaurant. Their corned beef hash is AMAZING, and the blueberry pancakes are ENORMOUS. The service is second-to-none. Two minor points of contention, neither of which deter my conferring 5-stars all-around: 1. If you have more than four (4) in your party, be prepared to wait a bit longer as they don't have tables available to conform to larger groups. 2. They won't poach my eggs to accompany the corned beef hash; however, in all fairness, neither will many other restaurants to which I have been.

Friendly staff… good food… I had the blueberry pancakes this time and they were outstanding. This was my third spring visit to Ocracoke and I’ve eaten at Pony Island at least once each year, and it’s always been good. Go for the breakfast! (I was so busy enjoying the food that I forgot to take pictures…)
