Great food & great service! The crab mac & cheese was amazing! The shrimp tacos were very good, as well. While we were waiting for a table inside, we had a few drinks at the bar. The bartender assured us we could take our drinks inside. When we sat down, the server immediately took the beer bottle, stating, "No outside drinks. Sorry!" Once we pointed out that it came from the bar outside, he apologized & returned it. To avoid this, I'd suggest finishing the beer or asking for a draft instead.
Terrific experience on all levels! John was great at service; we had appetizers of scallops and fried green tomatoes (separate dishes; fish tacos and oyster 'po boy; desert was banana bread and coconut cream pie. Everything, including great drinks, was terrific! We are big fans!
A truly wonderful experience. The atmosphere on the deck was perfect on a gorgeous late summer evening. The Maple Glazed Scallops were incredible, tasted like they came straight from the water with a delicious maple bacon relish on top. The No More Pain is a must-have cocktail, really creative; the combo of pineapple and coconut topped with nutmeg makes it taste like "Beach Christmas" in the best possible way.
I got the Shrimp Po Boy which was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the seasoning/sauces were great. My wife got the crab cake sandwich which was fine, but she was quite jealous of my Po Boy, which was next level.
To top it off, the fries were top notch, crispy exterior, pillowy interior.
We had a great experience at the bar with Brian. At first we were seated at a table for our waitress Megan but saw a better opportunity at the bar. We got the baked oyster appetizer, crab Mac, and low country purloo.
Baked Oyster appetizer & No More Pain cocktail - absolutely delicious.
Crab Mac - tasty & cheesy. However, I typically don’t like “elbows” pasta at restaurants (seems cheap for a classy dish filled with crab). It’s Just a personal preference for shells or cavatappi over elbows.
Purloo - just like a jambalaya. Flavors were all there but the rice was a little under cooked.
Overall we had a great time at the bar, chatting with locals and other tourists.
The food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the scallops I had as an appetizer. Their drinks were not very strong for an alcoholic beverage. It tasted more like a virgin drink than an alcoholic one. The wait staff was attentive and well engaged.
We are heading to Hatteras from Cedar island. Enjoy a dinner here with my wife. It’s an amazing experience. We ordered grilled shrimps and scallops. It’s so delicious and must order dishes. I highly recommend and this is a must-stop place. The waiter is very nice and friendly! The pictures was taken after we ate some.
This location holds a special place in my heart whenever I venture to Ocracoke. The quality of the shrimp never fails to impress, and the margaritas are a delightful indulgence. The entire staff exudes friendliness and ensures top-notch service. While it's true that island visits can be costly, it's a reasonable expectation at many local establishments. Should you find yourself in the vicinity, I highly recommend making this a priority destination.
Ran in to wait on the rain before the ferry. What a pleasant surprise. Hope to come back and sit down with the family next time we are in. John was our server, killed it. He was "John"ny on the spot. Pictures of the food say the rest. Give them a shot, the painkiller did exactly that.
My family had visited Dajio prior and raved about the pimento cheese appetizer and how good the food was so, we decided to visit again. As they had told me, the food was amazing and the service was excellent. The outside patio area was shaded and cool and made for an awesome lunch. We will definitely be coming back again and again.
Late lunch cause the ferry took so long but totally worth it! Def 5start fresh seafood and beautiful screened in porch style eating area totally gives “wasting away again in margaritaville” vibes!
