Bar J Chili Parlor

I have been to Bar J's several times in the last year while visiting family. I am from NY and visiting a place like Bar J's with entertainment as good as Shane Jones with good food and service makes the trip worthwhile even without visiting family and even in spite of it at times. Came in with a group of 8 after doing some water sports and needed a casual place to eat at. The serving sizes were pretty big and the food was tasty. As the name implies, their chili is very good. The service sadly wasn’t very good, mostly due to lack of employees I would assume. But if you have time to kill and need a place to chill and eat, this place was a great place to come to!

Love Bar J!! The staff is incredible, especially Mel. My Dad, myself and our dogs love to come here. She is literally the friendliest person ever and is so welcoming. We come here in hopes that she’ll be taking care of us. The chili here is incredible too. This isn’t just with us. I’ve been visiting here for years and the staff here is nothing short of AMAZING.

Delicious, especially the Texas chili, and plenty of other tex-mex options. Awesome and friendly service. Also, free chips and one of the best house salsas I've tried. You can clearly see their standard for excellence in the interrior decor and outdoor, waterfront yard / patio area--of course, along with their food. One of old town's best-kept secrets that should definitely NOT be a secret.

I went walking Sunday morning around Occoquan like I do often and decided to stop and have breakfast somewhere. I found this place and think that the food is really good. The French toast was soft how I like it and the cheesecake flavored whip cream was amazing. I also had eggs, bacon, and sausage. The eggs were also really good, my only complaint is that I felt the sausage was overcooked and the bacon was a little bit too salty. Hold back on over cooking the meat, its supposed to be juicy. My waitress Fernanda was great, and I do intend to come back since I'm a Tx girl and try some of the chilli. 😁 * Went a second time and had steak and eggs (medium well) and it melted in my mouth, everything was amazing...down to the toast.😋 Follow me @ tiffanywright2008 on Instagram
