It’s a bagel. I’ve had famous bagels almost everywhere I’ve been due to my traveling buddy being a New York bagel freak. These bagels are good. They offer a variety of cream cheeses and bagel types. I usually opt for their lox bagel. All of their cream cheeses were tasty. The lady who owns the place is friendly and quick.

My favorite bagel shop. These guys know how to make an authentic New York style bagel and have been doing it for years, and have kept their prices affordable. This is one of those local treasures that is a true contribution to the town. Unassuming, authentic bagels that you don't need a six figure tech job to afford regularly.

Delicious bagels here. I know bagels are on trend right now but this place has been offering excellent bagels for years and their cream cheese is awesome too. I go for their egg bagels - so I have to get there early as they always sell out. Love this place!

I lived in N.Y. for 45 years and I know my bagels. Luckily, House of Bagels and particularly Lillie REALLY knows bagels too.
This place has THE best bagels in the Bay Area and they're also very kind people.

I was driving by on the way to Redwood park and stopped on an impulse. I don’t usually have high hopes for bagels in California. But these turned out to be some of the best bagels I’ve had in the Bay Area (my tastes were shaped by NYC bagels). I will stop here whenever I’m in the neighborhood!

These are the best bagels around. And the people that work here are lovely. They know you and your order and make it with care. These are the closet to actual New York delicious bagels that you can get in Oakland.

Changed my review because these are really good bagels but pretty expensive. $23 for 12 bagels and a medium and small container of shmear. Bought 12 bagels but wasnt given the option for a bakers dozen. Asked about the deal mentioned in other reviews about getting free shmear when buying 12 but was told that wasn't true. Not sure why.

Every time we visit House of Bagels we are greeted by Lily. She always knows what we want and before you know it our order is ready. No one is as fast and kind as Lily. That’s mostly why we go there at least twice a week. Thank you Lily. You make such a difference.
