Great burger place nearby the zoo! I got the melt burger with bacon and avocado and it was pretty good. Wish I was able to come here a few more times to try some of their other options.

Great burgers and fast service. I got double cheese burger with bacon and the meat was on point. Great flavor and super juicy. I also order a cheese fries and it was delicious too. Oh .. speaking about price, totally worthy.

The young lady was extremely friendly and personable. I had to keep running to the car because my husband had questions ( he is wheelchair bound). This young lady came to the car and answered all of his questions and even took his order and I finished my order inside. When the order was ready she brought it out to our car. Excellent service I will return

For years I have been coming to Ben's Burgers, I always thoroughly enjoy my double bacon cheese with fries. To be frank, their menu is delicious, and the inclusion of a few Japanese food items makes it even more appealing.

Really wanted to have a good burger. I've been digging around Oakland looking, was hoping Ben's would be the answer, sadly it wasn't. Menu is a very confusing, they're really not sure what they want to be. Ordered the burger melt on sourdough, couldn't believe how paper thin the burger patties were (see pics), it was a joke. The lettuce was thicker than the meat, seriously???. Owner doesn't care to run a well put together operation, there's no thought or design scheme with the building, furniture and decor, it's just haphazardly thrown together. Name on the receipt is different from the name on the sign, there's just a very weird vibe here. It's also dirty with trash everywhere. If they had good food you could overlook the lack of ambiance, but the mediocre food coupled with a run down overall feeling means I'm not coming back and I'm moving on in my search for a good burger in Oakland. Ben's is dirty, cheap, very poor value and overrated.

It's backkkk! Most native east townies know this spot! Combos, thick shakes, hot fires, and people watching. Old gem new twist!
