Since Rustica changed hands from the brothers that owned it for many years to the new owners I'm sorry to say it's been a huge disappointment. Very sad. It was so good before. We had more pizzas from Rustica tha any other pizza place as well as their yummy Chicken and yams and the pickled beets. It was all so good. No more. Such a disappointment.

Owners are super nice and the have good food selections - pizza, south African pies and Mary's fully baked chicken combos. The chicken was a bit dry (perhaps I was late) and the pizza has not been great --- but the pies were awesome. Will return fit the pies.

Solid Pies. Best overall 🍕 in Montclair. The rotisserie chicken is fantastic, the sides can be hit or miss, but the garlic mash is 👍. Go-to take-out spot and the delivery option is a big bonus. Not great enough to round-up to 5 ⭐ 4.4 is my take.

We ordered delivery this past weekend and it was incredible. Got a large pepperoni pizza and caesar salad that came with yummy bread. I was blown away. Cannot wait to go back!

I remember when Rustica open on College Ave in Oakland.
I loved everything about it.
Then the unthinkable happened and the location closed.
I switched to the Montclair location.
I am a seasoned and faithful customer who wants Rustica to succeed:
BUT: The quality of the pizza varies every time and you never know what your'e gonna get.
Sometimes the pizza's good and sometimes just so so. Because of this I always falter for a moment when considering ordering from Rustica.

Large pizza for takeout was bad. Crust top was ok, crust bottom was a little underdone, middle of bread part was frankly underdone. Toppings were just kind of warmed through and wet, no browning or crispiness at all on top. Very little sauce. The end product was wet and mushy...yuck.

Just a short walk from Rockridge BART station, my friend and I discovered this warm, cozy Bistro-style pizza place. My friend is celiac, so she has to be diligent about gluten contamination with her food. This place serves delicious gluten-free pizza. We have been there twice. Each time, I enjoyed the gluten-free pizza so much I didn't care that it was not made with wheat and flour dough. We love the Provencal pizza from the Gourmet collection (topped with roasted yellow onions, red onions, Kalamata olives, capers, chevre, mozzarella, and basil). The quiet, secluded place in dim lighting was perfect for private conversations, catching up, and relaxing.

I like the pizza but their customer service is lacking. I prefer a friendlier person at the counter and a friendly manager in the background. The pizza by the slice is delicious, try the pepperoni.
