Memphis would be lucky to have a place to get ribs as good as these. This is the BBQ jewel of the East Bay. Perfectly smoked and cooked so the meat flavor comes through. Tender- and meaty. Brisket is also first rate. The fat has melted in so the meat is full of flavor. Besides the excellent food, two of the nicest people you will meet are in the Hut cooking and serving customers. Caution: try it once and you won't be able to stay away!!
Classic barbecue done right. They just opened and have a limited menu but it's very good. The ribs were smokey-perfect and the greens just how they should be. The atmosphere is clean and inviting, several beers on tap including local brews, classic blues on the stereo. They said they'll be adding brisket. I'd like to see cole slaw and corn bread on the menu soon.
What a fantastic BBQ joint, I found it to be head and (pork) shoulders above my favorite places in SF. I ordered the chicken, which was perfectly done, juicy with a nicely crisped skin. I got a taste of the brisket too, and that was even better, 18 hours of flavor packed into each bite. To top it off the owner is great, a cheerful guy with a love for the craft. I'll be back!
Chris and Lucky have an awesome barbecue set up here. As a Florida transplant this bbq takes me back to all the awesome smokehouses of the south. The ribs, brisket and hot links are all time. My girlfriend and I love coming here for a quick lunch or a big dinner.
Went there with my husband, ordered, and had an issue with my card declining... it was because I've never used my card in other cities before so my bank thought it was a fraudulent transaction. The two gentlemens were really nice and patient with us. Knowing our issues they still prepared our order not knowing if we will be able to pay. Fortunately, I resolved my issues and paid for my meal. The ribs were just right and the side dishes (baked beans and potatoe salad) were awesome 😋 will definitely come again.
If you have not had smoked bbq done right then you need to visit the BBQ Hut in Berkeley. They even have sign inside that explain the process and how it differs from regular bbq. I always get the 3 meat combo, ribs, links and brisket. Sides are great and it has a nice deck outside to enjoy the sun while you eat. Only bad thing is they don't have much parking. Everytime I'm in Berkeley im there. High recommendation.
As a displaced Island guy, Lucky's BBQ is "Broke Da Mout" good ! Had the ribs and sides for lunch with some spicy sauce to kick it up a notch... OH MY ! So Onolicious !
Superb. The meat was so tender and flavorful. This is the best lunch spot in a 2-mile radius. Glad I found it.
