Great great place! Homemade tortillas and salsa casera muy rica. He’s a great cook with reasonable prices and he is hardly making it so if you see this get a huevos rancheros and a michelada and leave him a fat tip.

Loved this simple place run by Pedro who makes wonderful tortillas by hand and is a good cook. We loved the chilequiles and the huevos rancheros!

Didn't know NorCal had this place in their arsenal! Incredible Mexican food (coming from someone who's lived in LA and Santa Ana)! The birria is incredible and the homemade tortillas are fresh pillows of goodness. You can taste the care they put into their food. I definitely this place!

Ordered a vegetarian burrito bowl. The rice was good, but I like the way the beans. tasted like they were seasoned with meat. I took one bite and threw them away. I also prefer whole beans.

Delicious traditional Mexican food. They always start by bringing chips, salsa, and hot refried bean. We love the caldos! Breakfast is yummy goodness. Its a small place but hits the spot like grandma or mama is in the kitchen hooking it up LATIN STYLE. Next door is a cute shop with traditional Mexican things. Check it out.

I dream about making tortillas as delicious as these. Fresh and a bit on the thicker side but truly superb. Generous with their portions and if you dine in, your order includes a little bit of delicious refried frijoles con quesito, salsa and chips while you wait. Everything I've ordered is always fresh and delicious. My favorite is the sopes!! Dayum!!! The main guy is a dedicated older gentleman who cooks till late for the next day and gets up early to shop for vegetables and other fresh ingredients. I think it's family run too. Its a small humble greasy spoon establishment, with real food made with love. Vegans, vegetarians, hyper-germaphobes and tourists with "delicate" sensibilities, sorry, you'll probably be disappointed. Real Oakland gente, welcome! P.S. The food truck on the side is a different establishment, fyi.

My friends and I decided to eat here before going to a concert at Oracle arena. We found some parallel parking on the street. The area seems pretty safe, sans all the glass on the ground from previous broken windows. We were the only customers in this restaurant (around 430-530pm on a Wednesday night), but it took a while for our food to come out. We didn't mind since they were generous with the complimentary chips, bean dip, and salsa - all had excellent flavor. I ordered the pastor and asada tacos, which were flavorful and the handmade tortillas were a nice touch (though the only toppings for the tacos were . They had run out of lengua that evening, and after I ordered the asada, they didn't have enough to make my hubby's burrito order so he got pastor instead. There were many flies, even for the month of April. The decor was interesting (some olde time fliers on the walls in frames, the one by us was about gringos). There was plenty of seating (about 10 tables with 4 seats each), though there still were no other customers by the time we were done eating (around 530-6pm). I'm definitely going back to try their many other offerings.
