Smokin' Woods Bbq

Excellent bbq we ordered the big meal w 5 meats 4 side, the rolls so soft and buttery. We were staying locally and pretty much did want to deal with the traffic and parking so we decided to have our dinner delivered. It was a bit pricey but once we had it, it was totally worth it! Delicious peach cobbler too! Grub hub forgot our pie, they sent someone else to bring it to us. Good thing because it was great! Totally recommended you try them. We even had leftovers to enjoy the next day.

Technically these folks nailed it. The bark was tasty and thick, the smoke rings were deep and perfectly pink. All in all the barbecue was one of the best I’ve had in the Bay Area. However, they lost it in the details. The dish was served under temp, which gave the meat a perception of dryness. The point of the brisket could have used some more trimming. The collards were over salted and a little undercooked. If these folks can nail down the small stuff, they van really make it happen. Also, for a busy Sunday, the service was great:)

We ordered vegan and of course their staple q’s. Everyone was pleased. Ilisha was super helpful getting our large order correct. The two cooks in the back banged out our order precisely and fast. Sandwiches & certain bbq sauces were not available that day so we quickly modified my colleagues orders and made them platters instead. Parking is street parking. They have indoor and outdoor dining. Cashless payments.

THIS IS THE BEST BBQ IN OAKLAND!! The meats are so delicious you can taste the effort that went into every detail and the sides are just as amazing!! Normally you go to some bbq places and the sides are just an after thought but not here, they are on point. I can’t get enough of this place! I have to come here every time I’m in the area ‘ Always a great experience.

Absolutely love Smokin Woods Bbq!! This is thee only place to eat Quality BBQ in Oakland. My daughter was extremely happy with her food(1st time visit). Quantity & Quality match. For bbq this delicious is worth every penny. Please do me a favor. Eat the meat without sauce 1st, so you can taste the hard work these brothers put into there food. The brisket tho!! We went to Smokin Woods BBQ for the first time and if we are back in the area I would go back. This establishment has a full bar along with plenty of indoor or outdoor seating. The food was really good. The meat was tender and not overly smoked. Nice sized servings of meat. The Sandwiches are served on a nice soft fresh roll with plenty of meat. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

If I could give 5 negative stars, I would...terrible barbecue. I drove all the way from Castro Valley and only eating cereal today for anticipation of a great barbecue meal! I ended up with fatty ribs with zero flavor. It was like eating boiled ribs dropped in water and one could pour some sauce on to make it humanly eatable. The greens had large stalks of root and the potato salad had too much mustard. I ate the potato salad because I was starving. The only thing good was the baked role. The parking stress and having to wait 20-30 minutes for an order is just not worth dining for the bland food. I will not return and they must have friends giving them 5 stars? I'm from Chicago and I swear, this just ins't RIGHT😡 I hope to receive a refund, $ 31.00 and this includes a drink that cost $5.51 cents... Update: I called and asked the manager on duty for a refund but she stated we don't give refunds. You can see on the other Google reviews where the manager offered a REFUND? You can't pick and choose who gets a refund. The manager stated they rather have the negative reviews versus giving a REFUND! Try us back later, maybe the food will be different...OMG! OMGeez!
