Nice, small sushi restaurant near Lake Merritt. The sushi was good (not amazing), but the kind staff, good prices, and quick service made this an overall great experience. We ordered takeout and had a dinner picnic by the lake!

Wanted to try someplace new and heard about the unlimited sake box here. Ended up not getting it because they don't offer hot sake in conjunction with said deal. Sashimi is better in many other places. This was also the worst soft shell crab that I've ever had. This is also the only place I've been to so far which had the Katsu Don and Tofu Misoyaki. The Katsu Don was mediocre. The only thing that stood out this meal was the Tofu Misoyaki.

As much as you would like saki (and they never let your cup run dry). Sushi is okay it's not the best sushi in Oakland, but it is affordable. We go there with friends for the saki and good times, not because we need to settle a craving for sushi. Staff was nice, prices are great. I'd recommend for a fun night out.

This is a wonderful Sushi house. Amazing appetizers and plates. The food is excellent. But the main reason people come here and keep coming back is "masu sake" -- bottomless!! Do yourself a favor and don't drive here - get your ride home, or stumble to the heart and dagger for another round. Love this place!!

Such great ambiance and value. They offer an unlimited box of sake for five bucks extra if you buy a meal of a certain amount. The sushi is fresh, the space is intimate and the service is always great. I love meeting up with friends here, since it’s so centrally located and right by the lake. I would eat here every day if I could afford to.

I have worked and lived in the Lake Merritt area for some years but had never gone to Coach Sushi before last week. I have to say both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the chirashi bowl and my friend had a Bento Box. Although it was busy, the service was great and the fish was extremely fresh and beautifully presented. There's also nothing better than enjoying a delicious meal and then taking a stroll around the beautifully lit Lake Merritt at sunset.

Walked in to order food and there was 9 people sitting down eating. All Asian. I’m not. I tried to order and it was 853. Sign outside on lit bright. Door open. People eating. They tell me they’re closed at 8p. So 1 hour later people are still eating sushi? I call bs. I’d never go back here again. I took a picture of the worker who kept smiling a dumb smile at me from behind some cheap thick glasses. Some people think disrespect is a joke. Disrespect the wrong person and get a terrible review. This place gets 2 thumbs down.
