Holy Land Restaurant

For years this has been my go-to lunch spot to take friends that are visiting from out of town. The falafel is freshly fried and seasoned -- the best in the area IMO. I normally get the falafel plate but can also vouch for the masabaha, combination salad plate, baba ganoush, tabbouleh, pickles...The mejadara isn't my favorite I feel like it needs something seasoning-wise but the rice and lentils are cooked well. I still need to try the sambusek. Also, the zhoug is fantastic and spicy! Always get extra. It's not listed on the menu. There is also a nice little appetizer plate when you sit down there. I can't remember details since it's been a year without dining in restaurants. Oh and get at least one mint lemonade! I live nearby and I keep their hummus stocked in my fridge. Miles better than anything in stores and farmers markets.

The chicken shawarma was dry and flavorless. The pieces of chicken were not cleaned or cut nicely with bits of cartilage hanging off of them. The soup of the day, appeared to be lentil, was devoid of flavor and seemed to not even have salt. It was largely inedible and pretty expensive for such low quality.
