My favorite food spot in the Bay Area! Staff is so incredibly respectful and honest. I always feel welcome eating here. The food is immaculate and authentic and the atmosphere here is very calm and peaceful. Staff is super responsive to waiting tables. Today ate here with family and we made a mistake on the bill and paid $50 extra, the staff was so honest that they brought it to our attention so that we could correct it.
This place will always have my business!
Amazing Lunch. The servers and cooks are Thai or Laos and they know how to cook Heyyy🤗 I ordered my Thai soul food RadNa Beef: beef n broccoli stir fry in a black sweet soy saucy gravy on top of stir fried wide rice noodles. I ordered dessert to go Mango n Sweet sticky rice, Heck Yes, it was absolutely perfect! Sweet salty ratio Mmmm - Go get you some of this Berkeley/Oakland institution since 1986 in your life.
Delicious and authentic Thai food in Oakland. I was surprisingly impressed.
One of my favorite Thai restaurants of all time! The family that owns Saysetha is wonderful, and all the food is consistently excellent. My sister and I literally dream of their curries. The fish in their curries is wonderful, so tender. I have a bunch of food allergies, and they're excellent about communicating what dishes they can make gluten-free, soy-free, and egg-free. Great food at a great price, with wonderful service to boot! I go here nearly weekly now.
Have been going to this place for over 20 years and it has always been sooooo good. The owners are genuinely kind and care about their patrons. The food is one of the best in the east bay!
Serious flavor! The sweetest ownership. Green curry & noodle dishes are to die for. Green papaya salad is also a win. I eat here all the time and I have a gluten allergy. They are always accommodating and I feel safe because everything is made from scratch to order.
Our dinner was a true delight! The owner was so sweet and really took care of us! We were so busy devouring the food (also because we were hungry) that I forgot to take photos! Let's get down to it, we ordered:
1. Krispy wings (really freaking good, came out piping hot, crispy but with a thick sweet sauce)
2. Basil chicken (probably the least exciting thing we ordered. This was the one average dish)
3. Pineapple fried rice (instead of the classic chicken my brother gets, we tried something a little different. Was an interesting twist and would try again). Normally though, I forego fried rise for brown rice and a vegetable dish, so I'm not a fried rice connoisseur
4. Saysetha suki noodles. Usually order pad see Ew or pad see Mao, but this sounded unique. Honestly, love the peanut sauce in these noodles.
5. Green curry with pork. A little thinner than I've had but still great. Healthy serving of meat in this dish
6. Deep fried fish fillet. Normally would stay away from this much fried food but our table wanted to try it! Even though it was covered in a minced garlic sauce, the fish stayed decently crispy through the end of the meal
Overall, great flavor. It wasn't super spicy in terms of pepper heat, but they had a slew of hot sauces available upon request. Honestly, we didn't even use hot sauce til the end of the meal. Would definitely go again, seemed like a lot of folks who came in while we were seated were regulars! Always a great feeling to find a place like that!
Solid Thai spot! The menu pictures on the maps listing is accurate just fyi for being 3 years old. They clearly know what they're doing!
