SoNo Ice house is amazing! The best date night is Friday night public skate at the rink, and then heading to the beer garden right next door for live music. I just wish SoNo ice house had more public sessions, some figure skating options and at least one figure skating coach on staff. Maybe I'm greedy.

March 6, 2021 - per governor Lamont, Connecticut’s capacity limits are pretty much back to 100%. Sono Ice House insisted all parents sit in their crammed bar to watch their kids play, not allowed in the empty stands. Why - to make money off of food, beer and sodas? Isn’t it safer to spread parents out instead of in a crammed bar? Contacting the dept of health and Lamont’s office myself on Monday. This needs to stop!

The food we had for breakfast was really good and very affordable! Great staff in bar/restaurant! If staying in the area, skip the hotel breakfast included in your rate..go here for fresh eggs, potatoes and meat..plus a great menu with other kid friendly and adult preferred foods. Take in a hockey game by the Elite Connecticut ROUGHRIDERS!!

Went to a midget game on the 8th. They insisted that we sit in the restaurant to watch our kids on the ice. Most people didn't wear masks. I asked if I could go to the balcony or stand in the rink by the glass. Nope. Like that is somewhat more dangerous than being put into a restaurant, OR, they wanted to bring more business to the restaurant. I'm not against bringing business but getting stuck in the restaurant seems a little contrived at best. Guess what happened on the 12th? You guessed it. I had symptoms that were later confirmed as covid. I've been so careful up to this point, and I'm watching my other family members slowly get symptoms, so they will be in quarantine for a long time. I will add that I have not been anywhere before of after for a few days If you read this, reverse your policy and allow parents to spread out safely in the rink. Parents may buy food after after the game to support the owners but do not force patrons to sit in the restaurant if they do not want to.

Love to play at this facility! Great People, Great Bar! Only suggestion I would have is that management needs to stagger the start/end times of games so that the Zamboni driver is not trying to resurface both rinks at the same time. He goes too fast to try and finish and can't take the time to do a good job on either rink. Also, make it mandatory that no one steps on the ice for at least 5 minutes after resurfacing until it sets. Skating around before it sets makes the ice 'muddy' before the game even starts. These two factors are the main reasons that the ice surface at SoNo is so poor to play on.
