Staff was friendly and the place was kinda decent. I enjoyed the food there. As for the Galão, it could be less bitter at least for me.it was. But that didn't stopped for coming back a day after and get some Queijadas de Natas. 😍

Every time I’m in Newark stop here and I bring home a big box of pastel de nata. They are soft and creamy with a flaky crust. Not too sweet and they are always fresh and delicious. This place also has a full menu of sandwiches and pastries.

This bakery definitely knows what they’re doing. Gave it a fair shake by ordering a large fruit tart, chocolate eclairs, 24 pastel de nata (they looked good lmao), two different types of bread. I would order them all again and try every other pastry too. Such tasty desserts and super fresh.

I’ve eaten here before. They are good but sometimes it can be not so perfect. Tried the Pastel de nata (I’ve had better here before - this time it was a bit more eggy). But they are good. Also the Bread pudding slice is good

This bakery is abosulte gem in the area, amazing quality bread, fresh, strong aroma, and perfectly bakes. I am not surprised how busy it gets in the morning rush. Baguette: The usually place this nearvthe cash register, not being sure if they are other Baguettes there. The baguette was very crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside, perfectly bakes with an amazing taste. Portugal croissant: Never had one, but its just like a bread roll, good though, tasty in its own way, but definitely not a croissant, I just wanted to try it. Croissant: Nice flaky crust and good buttery taste. The aroma was ok, but the taste was good. I would say this goes good as a sandwich or a latte. Egg Tart (Pastel De Nata): The egg tart was a delicious, it has such a nice flaky crust and creamy center. Not sure if am giving the best description, but it was good, no wonder they make so many and people buy them all. The price takes the cake, very inexpensive and worth every cent.

I really like the decor of this place very traditional. I enjoy this Bakery because of the daily soup options they usually have you can taste the freshness very natural flavored. It can be busy at time so service can be slower than usual which can make you become impatient but over all they do provide friendly service. They have a variety of portuguese desserts, they also make hot and cold sandwiches. Their ice coffee is pretty good as well. They also sell portuguese chorizo, cheese and quincy marmalade.

The egg tarts here are shockingly good. Probably would be able to compete (or even beat out) w/ comparable bakeries in sao paulo, where i recently visited. A really precious eatery that Newark is lucky to have.

We had Pastéis de nata for breakfast every day when we were in Lisbon last year. We were eager with the taste so much, it was difficult to find a similar one in NY and our friends recommended us to try Teixeira’s Bakery. The decor of Teixeira’s Bakery is clean, authentic with the traditional blue tiles but with limited seats. There was always a line but the wait wasn’t too bad. We ordered 2 Pastéis de nata - Portuguese egg tarts, Rochas, Rissois De Camarao and Lanches Fiambre with 1 coffee and 1 latte for only $13 which was reasonable. The Pastéis de nata was the best, amazingly delicious, the custard filling was creamy but light and the tart was chunky but chewy bottom. We also love their Rissóis de Camarão - Portuguese shrimp turnover which was addictive, well flavored shrimp filling with mochi like layer. It was totally worth a visit even though we live 40-minute drive away. We will definitely plan to be here again.
