Green Fig

Great place! My family and I originally intended to go to the Rustic Table for Brunch (on Sunday). Looked up wait times in google which said, “No wait.” However, by the time we arrived there, around 11:30am, the place was packed (it is small) and they told us 35-45 min wait for a party of 4. We were pressed for time, therefore, we immediately googled the closest place for brunch. The Green Fig showed up. It looked spacious, nice, and only a 3 min. walk. We immediately headed there and, at first, couldn’t see it on the street. It was because it is in the fourth floor of the Yotel. We were presently surprised coming off the elevator. The place had a beautiful chic and modern style. And the hostesses greeted us very courteously. Our server Andreana was superb - very friendly and helpful. We had the Greek Omelette, the Brioche Benedict, and the White Egg Frittata. The presentation of the food was outstanding and the taste delicious!!! The prices were very reasonable for a hotel restaurant and the quality of the food. Definitely an outstanding find! I will definitely be back!

Reasonable prices for breakfast buffet, food was ok , pancakes were good , eggs didn't look very good both days I tried , coffee was good but waited almost 10 to 15 minutes both days to be served with coffee and water , convenient if you are in hotel , some expected items like sugar free syrup were not available, thank you.

Updated: food was extremely overpriced considering the quality. So I guess they booked their dining room for a private event, but they didn’t make that known at all when I made my reservation. So when we got there they sat us in this real weird section of a bar that had coffee tables and fake turf grass. Not an ideal dinner situation. The worst part is now my colleagues are gonna judge me for years. I’m worried this could impact my performance review. If that happens my family will be so disappointed. Did this restaurant just ruin Christmas for me? Only time will tell.

The Green Fig is a casual restaurant that is in the fourth floor of the Yotel hotel on 10th Avenue between 42 and 41st street. When we first began going there for dinner, they had exceptional middle eastern foods and when we recently returned, while the staff is still loving and warm, the menu has changed and it had lost some of its charm. I asked one of the waiters who explained that their executive chef left a few months ago and took his recipes with him! I’d lobby that they bring back their various Mediterranean dishes that also kept folks like us returning to their restaurant! The Green Fig is conveniently located near the Signature Theatre Center and you can still get great salads and small and large plates of “ comfort foods”. I just miss their old menu!
