WOW! An incredible night at an incredible Family Italian eatery. Authentic from the food, to the charm, to the staff. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu (from the looks), but the veal ossobucco is absolutely lights-out, jam-up, "slap-yo-grandma" (that's a good thing if you've never heard the phrase) good.
Make a reservation, share some bottles, apps, and entrees with great friends or family and you won't be disappointed!
We were a party of 6 , it was an amazing experience for all of us. From the red house wine through the salad course with watermelon and balsamic vinegar , meatballs appetizers and 6 different entrees we all left happy. And an amazing staff thanks
Wow. The atmosphere is super cozy, the neighborhood is so cool, the owners are the servers and cook and extremely welcoming and nice. The food is magnificent. The clams are the best. Use the bread for the sauce. The meatballs are ginormous. It’s not all about the size. They are tender and the flavor is Devine. This place will become a regular for me and my family.

This was recommend to me by a friend and it is a hidden gem! Every bit of the of a quaint, family owned & operated Italian restaurant. Every dish for our party of was delightful. The mussels, veal & gnocchi were astounding. I will definitely be back on my next trip to NYC.
Fantastic Italian restaurant. This place has that classic old time Italian feel. The food was delicious and the portions are very fair. You'll leave with extra. Everyone there treats you like family.
One of the best restaurants in the city. The best food, great atmosphere. But tonight we witnessed a customer ATTACK one of the beloved owners. This customer, Robert Dreyfus, was totally in the wrong and he wrote a bad review here. Ignore him. He should have been arrested- he literally punched the owner and gave her a black eye.
Piccolo Angolo is a typical home cooked, family run, red sauce Italian restaurant. What to expect... firstly very pleasant service! If you're lucky enough to have the owners daughter serve your table you're in luck because she's warm and welcoming. You'll feel part of the family quick. Secondly, except a lot of food. I mean a lot of food. The prices are a little higher than other spots but you won't be leaving hungry that's for sure. Your table will be served some bread. Half the basket will be garlic bread which was a pleasant surprise! Make sure you order the meatball as an app - 1 meatball is more than enough for 4 people! The food here is exactly what you'll expect. Comfort Italian food. Pastas. Pastas and pastas. They're all good and you can't go wrong with anything you pick. Don't be shy. Use that bread to clean the plate of all that sauce. This place is that good!
Visiting NYC to celebrate both my birthday and my daughter's, we made a reservation at Piccolo Angolo at the recommendation of a friend who used to live in the area. It was truly an amazing experience! The linguine con vongole and fettuccine Alfredo were perfectly cooked and we both were surprised with our server, Maria, dimming the dining room lights and presenting us our gelato desserts by candlelight, and the entire restaurant singing happy birthday to us! A truly phenomenal evening!
Maria and Fernando have maintained Renato's quality. Since our first visit in 1999, Piccolo has been a must stop when we are in NY. Once again, their lamb ossobuco made a delicious meal, and Karin's favorite lobster cannelloni met her high standards. We plan to return next year.
