Your little greasy-unhealthy-localized yet yummy-quickly-friendly restaurant! I almost missed this place as the entrance was rather small. The environment wasn’t pleasant as it smelt oily - but hey this is a shop for friend chicken and pork belly! Got a minced pork belly over rice with fried chicken. It wasn’t authentic-not Taiwanese, but it was tasty! The pork belly wasn’t too fatty which I like, and the additional fried chicken (+2) wasn’t too salty nor saucy. The rice bowl also comes with some cabbage and pickled vegetables. A little overcooked but the taste was good. The portion was large and the service fast & friendly. No complaint with the expectations of a little fast-food-like place!

We popped into Baohaus in the middle of the afternoon and it wasn’t busy at all. Service was very quick - we ordered one of each bao, plus taro fries. This food... my god is it good, particularly the Spiceland bao, which I didn’t expect to be so complex. And the taro fries left me wishing that more places had taro fries. The overall vibe of the place is also great - it’s very small but has a lot of personality. I would probably fly up to NYC again just to eat here, that’s how much I loved these little sandwiches.

This is a great little fast food stop. Seating is minimal but the interior is pretty funny and cool. The buns are tasty, with options of either pork, chicken or fish. Varieties of rice bowls are also available along with a selection of interesting drinks. Check them out!

This has to be the best bao I've ever had. Period. The vibe of this place is super cool too, lots of personality and stickers, exposed brick and low lighting. I got grass jelly lemonade, chairman bao, and birdhouse bao. The lemonade is made in-house and is really refreshing. The birdhouse bao was crispy and juicy, and the chairman bao was incredible. The pork melts in your mouth and is cut in big chunks and seasoned to perfection. I love that the bao come with peanuts and cilantro and are slightly sweet, it's SUPER Taiwanese. Personally (I'm half Taiwanese, half American), this place is freaking amazing because the Taiwanese food is authentic and the vibe is very American. I've never felt more at home!

OK let me be clear, the food is 5 star quality. It was just so good, the chairman Mao melts in your mouth for example. The reason I took a star off was the lady serving the less than 10 people in the place kept forgetting people's orders, eating their food before giving it to them, giving orders to the wrong folks, and to top it off looking super pissed at me as I tried to be understanding with her. The cooks were really kind, efficient, and damn good at their jobs. All I can say is get your delicious food to go and hand your tip directly to them, they deserve it.

It's a simple and cozy eatery with amazing food. The chef/owner is pretty cool and knows his way around the kitchen. The food is made to order and unlike anything you had before unless you been to Taiwan. But even then, give it a try and you'll def wanna go back. The baos and rice bowls are big attractions.

It's a super tiny joint with just a couple tables. Order at the counter and sit down if there's space or stand and wait like we did. We ate outside on their bench. Service is ok. The staff seem to get along. The menu is simple but with good choices. We waited no longer than 5 mins for our plate. The taro fries were amazing, the bao buns were fluffy and moist. The pork was so tender and juicy. And the tofu was so flavorful. Just enough sauce and condiments. Can't wait to visit NYC again and swing by Baohaus for another treat.

Love to stop here for a fast tasty bite to eat. Everything on the menu is good, made to order, and excellent prices. They don’t accept cash at all so make sure you bring your debit/credit card. Open late. My husband and I absolutely love this place.
