We're a bunch of Foodie Travelnistas who were looking to celebrate a Birthday and so I went online to see what's new in Harlem,at least new for us. Vinateria was the first link I clicked on. It looked very inviting and appealing. And the words "Spain inspired " caught my attention since we love Barcelona and Valencia so much!
So it was the Rainiest night on Election night and some of us came from Brooklyn and Long Island. The weather and traffic were horrible and as we approached Harlem I felt pressure that I picked the place because after going through immense effort to get there, Your mind starts questioning you," this place better be good!"

Food was excellent! Grilled Octupus is Superb! Please consider an Entree version! Baby potatoes were a bit heavy on the salt side but that's an easy fix!
Black Spaghetti is another Winner! Whole Burrata was delish!
Ribeye Steak was perfectly done! Rigatoni was great, pasta was al dente,Lamb sausage was tasty...I would have put a hint more garlic but that's just my personal preference.
Extensive Wine List. Cocktails We tried; 7 ate 9 and Cherry maids...both crowd pleasers.
Service was EXCELLENT! One of our party has severe food allergies and the Kitchen accommodated her Effortlessly!
Did I mention the Grilled Octopus had me speaking Catalan!

The warmth and charming personality of Miss Fay was the icing on the cake! We all wanted to take her home...She's such an amazing Spirit and is immensely proud of her Family especially her Grandsons....
Vinateria, You took us to Gastronomic Euphoria and for that we say Grazi! #Michelin Worthy!
One of my favorite establishments in NYC... not just Harlem! Excellent staff, great wine list, and the Black Pasta is to die for! Kudos to Yvette Leeper-Bueno (Proprietor) for being one of the main reasons for not having to go downtown for fine dining and a great atmosphere!
We had a 6pm reservation for 11 of us and I arrived about 30 minutes ahead thinking that the parking would be difficult. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to find parking. We were seated right away by a very helpful gentleman who took a wonderful picture of us outside the restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food was very tasty. Great job.
When we arrived for our reservation time they sat us right away. When seated we were given bread for the table.
AMBIENCE
Went on a Friday at 8 left around 11 pm and the restaurant never really got full inside, but our door seating seemed at capacity.
Wonderful indoor and outdoor seating. This is definitely a date night spot OR a nice place to go out and have dinner with friends. I’d recommend you be dressed nicely since that seemed to be the overall vibe.
There were many couples throughout the night.
FOOD/PROS
Everything we ordered was delicious! The food ordered included:
lamb lasagna
lamb chops
roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and spinach
Bronzino stuffed w/ spinach
Drinks were good too!
CONS
Only complaint was slow service. Drinks took forever to come even ordered and there only seemed to be one waiter for the inside and outside.
Three of us had dinner at Vinateria on Sun, Nov 12/23 - reservation was for 4, but we had a last-minute cancellation. While the restaurant was busy, it wasn't noisy so we could actually have a conversation! Service was attentive; portions were generous; and food/beverages (Formaggi, Black spaghetti, Spinach lasagna, Burrata e prosciutto, Farro salad & Creme brulee; Cava, Pinot noir & Botanical cider. Crusty, moist bread that we received shortly after being seated was also wonderful) were delicious. Pictures here don't do the food justice.
I am beyond impressed with this restaurant. Specifically, I was super impressed with how attentive their outdoor staff were for the private dining "pods" as well as how good the happy hour specials were. My friend and I split some oysters, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, these little fish ball things which were super good, and some veal meatballs. This is definitely going to become1 of my regular outings for oysters. I highly recommend this gem.
This was my friend's last place to try out before she went back to France, and we had a wonderful experience dining here. The service was great even prior to us arriving at the restaurant since I called several times to ensure the kitchen would still be open. The kitchen was almost closing, and they allowed us to order in advance. Based on the reviews, we both ordered the black spaghetti. The black pasta was cooked perfectly and so flavorful! If you're into seafood, this is a must-have. We got the olive oil cake for dessert. This was delicious and not overly sweet. The service was great and we really enjoyed our dinner. I'm looking forward to going back and exploring more of the menu.
Came here for happy hour and we don’t regret it. The food was excellent and the staff was great.
For drinks we had el matador, which was amazing. The Thyme one was okay.
The COD croquettes were exquisite, Brussel sprouts 10/10, the polenta fries were different but delicious. We could have done it without the veal meatballs - they were not our favorites. And we also got the chicken, but took it to go. It was plenty for 2.
Salmon was delicious. Had to swap the accompaniment for dietary reasons. Loved my cocktail. Service was good, an almost perfect dining experience.
Fantastic restaurant. Staff was incredibly professional, warm, and helpful. Food was awesome and a great value. Also the food and wine menu was unique and creative without being pretentious or exotic for its own sake. And, had an energetic but classy neighborhood feel. Great execution all around.
Lovely people and environment. Always find myself coming in for a quick dinner or just sit and work for a bit with some appetizers because of the connections I’ve made with the people here. Perfect for hanging out with people, quaint and familiar. The slightest dissatisfaction would not go unnoticed and they always try to fix it or comp it in some ways. Love the salmon and Brussels sprouts, olive oil cake is the must get
Came here on a Saturday evening. We sat outside since it was so warm out. Outstanding hospitality!!!
Tom was extremely helpful as our server was so busy for a private event inside.
