Delicious food and excellent service! We have been there several times for both lunch and dinner and the food has been outstanding each and every time. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Highly highly recommend!!
Delicious Asian cuisine, excellent service from the staff, & gorgeous restaurant!!! I highly recommend!
I order from here all the time. I've tried dozens of different Chinese take-out places in the Village, pretty much everything that can deliver to me, and this is the place I keep coming back to. The Hong Kong style dumplings on the dim-sum menu are really really good. I've tried maybe a quarter of the menu and never been disappointed. Delivery time is quick and the orders are always accurate. It's also not that expensive, so it's a great deal. I've only eaten inside the restaurant once and it wasn't really noteworthy, the ambiance is normal and nice, not exceptional, but the food is still great and of course it's faster and steaming hot. But it's extremely solid for delivery. Definitely recommended if you want Chinese and you're in the area.
Was looking for some authentic Chinese place for lunch. Ordered their lunch combo which included dimsum of choice and one noodles ramen bowl. Loved the taste but since I ordered spicy, the level felt a bit off.

Ps2. Bueno para grupos.
Stopped here for late night dimsum and love their $1 daily dumplings!!! We had their combo for $11, which comes with 7 different dumplings and of course lychi martini to accompany! Great dumplings, great prices, and great service. I will definitely be back.
The thing to get here is alcoholic bubble tea.
No, it is not something special that you can't make at home. It is simply bubble tea with a shot of rum ($5.00 extra) mixed in. Out of all the flavors, coconut is by far the best. The taste was really refreshing like virgin coconut water. The bubbles were sub-par by my standards. But still I ordered 2 of them just because I like rum.
No, I am no an alky.
My co-workers ordered their own after trying mine. The strawberry flavor was pretty good. Tasted like candy. Cotton. The mango flavor was delish but tasted a little watered down. The bubbles again was just okay.
Dim sum in this area of West Village is a rare find and as such I did order some dishes as well.
The soup dumplings were VERY disappointing. If the words "soup" is in the name, then soup is to be expected. Needless to say, out of the 4 soup dumplings, only 1 was semi soup-y. The ginger soy sauce is standard with soup dumplings.
The scallion pancakes had a beautiful crunch but I found the scallions lacking overall. The peanut-y sauce was off putting. It should have came with the same ginger soy sauce that came with the soup dumplings. Again, STANDARD.
Last but not least, one of my co-workers ordered the fried calamari which may have been the best dish ordered...in a Chinese restaurant...very strange. The small pieces of chips that were mixed in with the calamari had a nice chipotle/smoky taste which might be even better than the calamari itself.
Service was fine.
I forgot to take their 10% offer when paying in cash and their 30% off dim sum dishes during Happy Hour at the bar but I might give them another shot in the food department.
Drink wise I'm okay trying them just once.
My friends and I wanted Dim Sum the other day, but we didn’t want to eat Dim Sum in the afternoon when you are actually supposed to eat it. Nor did we feel like taking the subway all the way to China Town. So I went to my trusty website Yelp and looked for a restaurant with a good rating, happy hour and of course Dim Sum. Niu Noodle House happened to be that place.
Niu is located in the West Village area of NYC. One awesome thing about this restaurant is its not busy (don’t know why), which means it’s quiet. Great place for getting a group of friends together! They also hand-make their Dim Sum everyday.
My friend Carol and I got there early to partake in the happy hour, which is from 4:00pm – 7:00pm 7 days a week. Speciality drinks are $7, and select Dim Sum is 30% off. We both ordered their Lychee Martini. I love Lychee, and what a great way to consume it. The only crappy thing about their happy hour is you have to sit at the bar.
When the rest of our group arrived we got down to business and ordered our food.
I ordered Chicken Soup Dumplings. Oh soup dumplings, you make my soul happy. The trick to eating a soup dumping is biting the top off the dumpling, then slurping out the soup. Ah, so good! I also ordered the Crab Meat, Pork and Chive Dumplings.
Carol ordered Sizzling Beef Noodles with teriyaki sauce. She was very happy with her meal.
Other items ordered by our dinner party included: Crab Meat and Pork Soup Dumplings, Veggie Dumplings, Beef TriBeCa Noodle Soup, and Pork Soup Dumplings.
The food was good and exactly what we wanted. Was it the best dumplings I’ve ever had? No, but we all enjoyed ourselves, and I’ll probably go back.
So good. Some of the best dim sum
Great service
Friendly curious staff
Amazing cocktails
Must go
The restaurant itself was bustling on a Friday evening, and pretty much all the tables looked like they were filled between 7:30 and 9:30 PM. The space was dark and had a great vibe to it, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful, being super attentive during the entire meal. My water glass was never completely empty omce (and I drink a lot of water)!
Enjoyed the Chinese broccoli, scallion pancakes and the fried dumplings. For my taste the soup dumplings were a little mushy. Cocktail drinks were the best, they don't cheat you off on alcohol!
Great place.
You can't complain about the location and is spacious inside too. The staff is great and very friendly.
Their selection of dimsum is small compared to other but they're delicious. Quality over quantity. The prices are decent too.
If you're dining by yourself, this is one of those restaurants you won't feel awkward dining in by yourself.
I've been here at least 10 times so far. I love their Chicken Soup Dumplings. Honestly, most of the time, that's the only thing I order. Their Chicken Lettuce Wraps aren't bad either.
Great noodles! I had the curry beef trifecta noodle dish and the flavor was outstanding. All the meat was super tender with a good portion of it as well. Appetizers were tasty and brought out quickly. Would recommend! Attached is the picture of the sizzling noodles
Good soup dumplings and pepper steak noodles. Mai Thais during Sunday happy hour were an added bonus.
Love the noodles and dumplings! Awesome service! I asked for a spicy sauce that would make me cry and the person who took my order left me this hilarious note when I picked up my order.
“Tear-Jerkin’ Sauce: p.s. don’t pour the whole thing on, or pour it, but we don’t cover funeral expenses!” Haha!
Amazing food and service, I got surprise about the multiples options they have available, this is a nice place to visit if you're in the mood for great noodles.
Instead of venturing to the other side of the world for dim sum (AKA Chinatown), walk over to this local Village gem. The daily dim sum specials are varied and a great deal for somewhere so close to Manhattan's West Village.
The service is impeccable. The range of sauces caters to every spicy or non-spicy need. I highly recommend the shrimp dumpling, pork bun, chicken lettuce wrap, and whatever the daily dim sum special is. Put on some chili sauce and enjoy your carb feast.
Niu has tons of great dinner entrees too and the ambience is great. Not too bright, not too serious.

Food was amazing, with a good variety of vegetarian and gluten free options. Great drink menu too!
Best ramen I ever had! Suggest to try out their papaya bubble tea.
