The Mac and Cheese is a must order, as is the spicy vodka rigatoni - yum, yum, yum. The burrata pizza is excellent, crispy crust, just the right amount of herbs, and fresh. The mussels were numerous, and perfect for an entrée as it comes with two big pieces of garlic bread. For appetizers, try the brussel sprouts, crispy, tender, they hit the right spot. Service at the restaurant is friendly, though you will have to seek their attention. We can't recommend Sauce & Barrel enough, and we'll be back!

Visited S&B a number of times during a trip to NYC in Jan 2023. Great happy hour drinks special 12-5pm seven days a week (until 6pm if sitting at the bar). 2:1 draft beers and glasses of wine. But beware of the wine offer, the board leads you to believe it’s for ALL wines by the glass but what they don’t tell you upfront is that it’s ONLY on their house Cabernet and Pino Grigio. Still not a bad deal, but the devil is in the details. Food is solid and their portions are very generous. The best pasta I had here, by far, was the Spicy Vodka Rigatoni. Pasta was cooked perfectly and they serve it with bread that soaks up the sauce to become simply divine. The chicken parm with spaghetti was a very generous portion but lacked seasoning of any kind and was a little bland. I added Parmesan cheese, crushed red and black pepper for to try and get some flavor into it but it still fell short. Saw a man at the bar next to me eating the chicken parm sandwich which was MASSIVE. Another couple has the S&B burger with fries and they looked amazing. Check this place out, just watch the drink deal details

Came here today for dinner with a couple friends. It’s across the street from our job so we’ve been here a few times, but todays the first time since the pandemic I think. I always got the pizza in the past so figured I would try their spicy vodka rigatoni today. It was really good, the pasta was a tad bit hard but not a big issue. We also got the arugula salad to share but I forgot to take a picture of that — delicious as well. We also got cocktails and they were delicious. My only critique is why does that happy hour END at 5pm?? It’s until 6pm at the bar but I remember in the past it being longer in the dining room. Seems counterproductive for a nice Italian spot in FiDi that attracts a lot of corporate patrons.

Highly recommend! Short walk from the hotel we were staying at. We did make a reservation, but didn't seem like it would have been a long wait even if we hadn't. We chose to sit outside in our own private little area that was probably created due to COVID. It was REALLY nice. The service was great, the food came fast, and was delicious!! Everything was so fresh tasting, and cooked to perfection.

After visiting the World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial, we were looking for a nice meal nearby and a Google search result for Sauce and Barrel caught our eye. It's just a short walk from WTC and close to the Battery. Upon arrival, we were attracted to the outdoor seating in a private little shed with heat. The space was well appointed with fall decor and very comfortable. The overhead heat lamp is very effective and also offers a warm glow to the table atmosphere. Service by Gerry was phenomenal. Everything was well timed with the utmost pleasant friendliness. Our group of five ordered the salmon risotto, which both the salmon and the risotto were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I ordered the chicken Marsala: I was amazed at the portions, the sauce and the fact they that left the skin on the seemingly whole chicken. Two ordered Margherita pizzas which were devoured quickly. The fifth got spaghetti and meatballs, which despite its simplicity was still presented with as much care as the higher end dishes. My wife enjoyed the sangria and I loved the 2-for-1 Happy Hour IPA beers. This will be one of those memorable meals from our visit to NYC.

The outdoor seating was nice as it provided a semi private space perfect for small groups. I really enjoyed the calamari appetizer with the white dip. Plenty of calamari and not too heavily breaded. The sausage pizza was large and filling but I wish it could hold its shape better. Overall good food

Sauce and Barrel has two items I really love to eat...their pizza and their burger! Two foods i am particularly picky about and this spot just took it to the next level for me. Their burger is perfection, overall flavors are on point, the burger meat is very well seasoned and quality is rich. Their pizza is just ridiculously tasty! The sauce is perfectly balanced and the toppings on their selected pizza is very well adapted by flavors and the dough it perfect in crunch and taste! Oh, and the rest of the food is delicious! Definitely a 5 star! Update 12/22/21: their chicken bianco pizza is fire! If you love a bit of kick this is the pizza for you! It's really good! Update 8/27/22: one of the best espresso martinis!!!!!!!!!! Perfect balance of sweetness, coffee, and liquor..the the foam is stiff to perfection. I also had some other item on their menu, Pei Mussels (that pesto sauce makes you want to lick the plate), a small Charcuterie board for starters, pizza of course (still my top spots for pizza), and some other dinner options i forgot the names of that were incredibly delicious.

To me, coming on a Wednesday night I was really surprised how many customers were here until I realized how good it the service was. First, my server was so kind and attentive. He checked in an appropriate amount without seeming disruptive. Then the food came out pretty quick (even with it being busy). Even some of the pasta dishes are made with in-house pasta. Then the restaurant manager came to make sure everything was good at our table. He was also really nice and seemed to really care that we were satisfied. I don't often write reviews but honestly I felt like this place really tried and I will definitely be coming back.

Went there for a lunch . We ordered Pizza and a pasta . Both of them were mildly spicy and tasted well . The five cheese pizza had a softer ricotta cheese making it even better . The place has a decent ambience.Service was quick. Also they had happy hour in afternoon in which you get 1 draft beer free on purchase of one. Nice Italian restaurant to try out in NYC.

Made a 6 pm reservation for a party of 4 on a Wednesday. I arrived a bit early but they were still able to seat me first. I was going to wait for the rest of the party to arrive before ordering drinks, but then the waiter mentioned they had an all day Wednesday special for a $5 pilsner, so I went with that and it was light and refreshing. We all skipped apps and decided to go straight to the mains. I went with the classic spaghetti and meatballs, which I really enjoyed. However, I don't think it was worth $24 for a basic pasta dish like this. I tried my friend's spicy vodka rigatoni, and really liked that as well. Again, not sure it was worth $22. Another person had the squid ink tagliarini, which tasted super fishy. Service was great - everything came out timely, and both the hostess and the waiter were super nice. I think this might be a spot intended for tourists and Wall Street business people, and that's why they can charge such high prices for pasta. Even their happy hour ends at 6, so who can make that call time besides people who work nearby, and/or people who are on vacation? Don't get me wrong, most of the pastas taste great but you can definitely find the same great quality elsewhere in NYC for much cheaper. That being said, I'm glad I got to try Sauce and Barrel but I probably won't be back.
