We came here twice on our trip when we craved Indian food and this always hits it out of the park. We tried 5 dishes and they were all incredible. Our fave would be the mixed veg but as you can see from the pictures it all looks amazing. You can’t go wrong here so I would definitely give it a go for authentic and delicious Indian food.
We enjoyed their vegetarian dishes more than the non-vegetarian ones to be honest. The paneer rikka was really tasty. The dal tadka and veg biryani was flavourful. The butter chicken was decent. I would not recommend their chicken biryani.
I head of Bhatti from Bollywood Actor “Anupam Kher”! He mentioned it being one of his favorite places in New York for India Food.
Food was pure Indian and tasty. They made customization for me in the Banarsi Chat, Fresh and crisp ingredients. Best chicken malai tikka I have ever had in the US till date, must try!
Butter chicken was perfectly spiced with green chili, if you eat mild ask them to make the gravy mild for your taste. Naan was good, I loved the generous amount of chicken keema in chicken kulcha.
Desert was authentic, value for money deal and time. Food expectations met well!
Downside for the management to note (Chef Gaurav Anand’s Team) : plates and serving bowl were chipped, no quality control is practiced for sure in the plating. I hope this changes in future visits. You are representing great food of India and very well doing justice to it. But serving it in chipped ceramic ware is not done given the high stakes at New York.
Staff was cooperative and service is quiet and well managed. Make reservation for family visit. But it’s worth a visit.
I have never thought NYC could have better Indian food then London! Bhatti Indian Grill exceeded all expectations. The best Indian food far and wide without question! Reasonably priced too.
AmazIng place for kebabs ,be it any meat they can cook it in Indian style and it’s amazing..the options here on the grill menu is vast!! I liked the food and the ambience too only one problem that it’s very small place!!
Lamb galouti kebab is 5/5. I'd never share the galouti kebab with anyone because it was so good. Exactly like it is supposed to be - Perfectly Cooked from outside but slightly less cooked from inside. If minced mutton (goat) would be used, this would be even tastier.
The butter chicken was a little on the spicy side and was less buttery/creamy. The chicken tikka in it was perfectly cooked in tandoor before. Butter chicken was 4/5 and could be rated higher if the curry would be made creamier and if there would be a bone-in version of it.
Paneer tikka was not the best I've had. It needs to be cooked more and the paneer needs to be softer.
Went in on a Saturday Eve, difficult to get in without a reservation, so it is recommended to have one. We luckily got a table for three as few people finished early.
Ordered bhatti da murgh appetizer. That chicken was perfectly juicy and flavorful. For mains I got the kadai chicken with naan and roti. That tasted good too. The quantity is comparatively less, good to share among two people.
We had to wait for half an hour for our order. Would have appreciated it if the staff was a bit friendly, their nature in general seemed very dismissive. The space is a bit tight.
But a good place overall for food!
Food was good, but the menu doesn't have a lot of common Indian dishes.
The food was pretty tasty. Quantity of starters was disappointingly low and not worth the price, while main course quantity was appropriate. Quality and taste of the food were really good overall. It’s worth noting that there’s a 20% gratuity on a table of 5 or more, which significantly increases the bill.
I had heard great things about their butter chicken and had high hopes when I read “Dilli da Butter Chicken” on the menu. While the chicken was perfectly well cooked, it did not taste anything like the authentic butter chicken from Delhi (coming from someone who has grown up on it).
While the service was fine, one of the hosts was really crass and rude. They cancelled our table without notice because apparently their call didn’t go through, blamed us for it and argued mannerlessly. We got a table after waiting in the cold for 20 minutes and it seemed like we weren’t the only people who were made to wait. The other party anyway seemed to know that this restaurant doesn’t honor its reservations.
Perhaps this restaurant is very popular, but being rude to customers is never acceptable. They lose 1 star of the rating mostly because of that.
Lunch special is a great value - good portions and solid food for $17 ($22 after tax and tip)
Tikka was solid and naan was good
