Sushi 456 is among the top places (as of October 2023) to get a sub $100 omakase in Manhattan. The thing that makes it stand out is its focus on the fish, not the extra frills other sub $100 places can add to zhuzh up what they're serving. Sushi 456 serves up quality pieces of fish with simple sauces that make for a lovely meal. Two options: 10 piece omakase ($70) or a 15 piece ($100)

Sushi spot waiting to become the next popular kid on the block - they have a menu at great value with premium ingredients, including uni, toro and caviar. I enjoyed the attention for service and was happy with my whole experience here!

The omakase was amazing, the sushi chefs walk you through each dish and have great personalities. Would recommend doing the full omakase and take your time!! Each fish is delicious but the hand roll itself was the best hand roll I’ve ever had. Also BYOB which is of course a plus :)

Small but busy sushi joint. Almost gives off Ramen vibes. A menue design for sushi lovers. Ordered the simple nigori sushi chef choice. Best part? Sushi comes pre-season with enough wasabi/soy sauce per chef's recommendation. This forced me to eat the sushi as is and it really allowed for the fish to speak for itself. No strong flavors. Everything nicely blended and melted at times in your mouth. Even the extra soy/wasabi/radish is potent and flavorful. It's a reminder that 90% of the sushi you get is mediocre.

This place is a total hidden gem. It is right around the corner from our flat and it is our "go to" sushi. The fish is fresh and so delicious and the service is super friendly. We love popping in on a Tuesday for an easy night out. Great takeaway lunch specials! It is a very low key - a true NYC place - BYOB so bring your favorite bottle.

TLDR: Fresh, tasty sushi at reasonable prices with fantastic service! Truly won’t regret coming here! Had actually made a reservation here as a back up if there was too long of a wait at Nami Nori and honestly so glad that there was because this place is SLEPT ON. The sushi was fresh, delicious, and unique - honestly best sushi I’ve had thus far in NYC. And the icing on the top… it didn’t break the bank! Omakase is ~$70-$110 and a typical roll is ~$10. We got a ton of different stuff and honestly everything was so good - I don’t think you can go wrong here! Pictured is the King Salmon, which was like butter - it was SO tasty. Whole heartedly recommend that you pay this spot a visit!

The sushi is top quality and melt in your mouth! We sat at the counter and the chef chose the whole menu we were eating. Unbelievable quality, and quiet enough to enjoy on a Sunday night. Best nigiris of my life!

We got the 15 piece omakase nigiri on an unusually calm night (we were the only diners). The Chef was extremely friendly and personable and the sushi was out of this world. The fish is all fresh, amazing, and the sushi rice is warm and flavorful, which changes everything. Check it out.

I’ve recently been on an Omakase kick and this place is a must try. Gotta love that it’s BYOB and to make things even better, there’s a liquor store across the street. We started with some edamame and the tuna & avocado in soy apps. Both were great. For dinner we tried the 10 piece chef selection that comes with a hand roll. All 10 were chefs kiss 🤌🏻🤌🏻 The spicy scallop hand roll was so good I had to order 2nd. Lovely spot and have been back multiple times.
