Came here with friends and waited about 30 min for a table for 4. We enjoyed all our apps, mains and desserts! I think the apps shined even more than the mains but it was all still good. I do think they’re missing out by not having fries on the menu!

I went to SB five years ago when it was a vegan hole in the wall, and decided to check its vegetarian sit down version. We got four mains, two desserts and cocktails. The flagship superiority burger was the worst dish we got. The “burger” tasted like lentil paste. I'm also unclear how a $17 vegan Patty comes with no side. The market salad was just lettuce salad, but was very good, and the collard sandwich was nice. For dessert we got the special “ice cram” pistachio cake that was inedible, and the banana cake that wasn't anything like a cake but was tasty. Service was adequate. Will probably take me another five years to go back again.

A verified ebullient sensation. Savor the Superiority Burger, the Collard Green Sandwich, the Yuba Verde. The fried eggplant was other-worldly. The beans with pasta fulfilling. The peanut butter pie, the griddle cake, and the boysenberry shake? Superb. We split everything. If this is your type of food, it hits hard and true. Refreshing Pimm’s Cup. Service was sweet and personalized despite being packed and busy. We waited in line in the rain for 15m before 5pm to get seated right off. Was worth it. An urgent recommend.

Superiority Burger is truly superior. Thank GOD they actually have homemade veggie burgers instead of the beyond or impossible stuff. The flavor of the superiority burger is next level delicious. Can I ask for a double stack next time?? Perfect burger toppings. Thanks for the vegan cheese! We also got the spicy lentils and cornbread side to share. It was also next level delicious. Best cornbread I've ever had! We visited again with a bigger group and got more sides, stuffed cabbage, sweet potato... And something else I forgot because I didn't take pictures so I can't remember. But every side was delicious. The stuffed cabbage was my favorite but everything was really yummy. I also got the yuba sandwich the second time and it was also delicious but I think I like the superiority burger better still!! Desserts we got the date shake the first time, I think it was good. Interesting flavor, but I wouldn't get it again. The second time we got the vegan sorbet, it was black sesame and hibiscus. It was interesting and good, they change flavors all the time though. Then we got the malt cake? Don't remember what it was called but DAMN it was SO good!!!! I had to share it with 4 other people so that wasn't cool. Next time I'm getting one just for myself!

Overhyped and overpriced. The namesake Superiority Burger gets full marks for flavor, but the patty’s texture is unpleasantly mushy. I do prefer it to regular beef burgers—though, at $17 for a tiny burger with no sides, it better do at least that much. Worth trying at least once, especially for vegans and vegetarians, as it does not attempt to mimic beef. The Tofu-Fried Tofu (TFT) has too-thick breading and not all that much flavor. It’s something deep-fried and crunchy between buns. That’s it. Would not recommend. The menu felt geared towards making customers order multiple things on the menu: desserts, sides, you name it. You can’t expect to order a burger and get full from it.

The food was unbelievable, I experienced flavors I didn't even know were possible. I got the burger, of course, and it was a very delicious veggie burger, just the right blend of spices. Also got a dish that was brociflour and haloumi; it was spicy, earthy, and cheesy (despite being vegetarian.) The last thing I got was a gelato, two scoops, one scoop pomelo and one scoop black sesame.. If you come here absolutely get the gelato! The black sesame gelato tasted chocolatey and nutty. The food is somewhat expensive, but if you like strange and interesting new flavors and experiences it's worth it. I'll be back for sure for the burger and gelato at the very least.

Fun diner retro vibe, but it fills up quick. Got there 15 minutes after they opened and seated quickly, but half an hour later they were quoting 45 minute wait times. Service was professional and prompt. The food tasted good, but is it worth the price? Ehhhh...I get it, rent can't be cheap and vegetarian food is oddly pricier. I dunno. Hence, -1 star ding. Rating it 3 stars felt too low. We didn't try the desserts, which strangely seemed like the focus of their culinary ingenuity. Used to visit their old location which was cheaper, had more options...and was frankly tastier.

There is THAT SUPREME experience of perfection for everything… that first time that knocks you out … the first perfect kiss, the first time you listen to Coltrane, the first time you experience total symbiosis with a friend… the first steps … the book that will inspire you for life….The first time at The Metropolitan … and then there is the first time you eat at Superiority Burger … Which is like being at the Opera and being at CBJb’s at the same time… but while eating something truly superior (that should not be named “ veggie burger” because it s too sublime to be named ) … They say the old NY is gone. If there has to be a perfect fusion between old and ( the good) modern NY this is it to me. If you also discover while eating that the soulful human being that happens to be the chef and the creator of the space is not only one of the kindest and most humble people but also spent months working in a tiny village in northern Italy, Friuli, piece of forgotten land … he is a true Rockstar in his genre… un undefinable genre that glues together too many elements of perfection… the culinary experience, the location, the beauty of the bizarre decor that could not be more harmonious and surreal, the preservation of so many elements of a NY classic, Odessa, and him , Mr.Brooks Headley,, chef - founder … a masterpiece of a human walking around and dropping on your table a taste of datterini straight out from some garden … I loved every bit of this experience!!!!!

VERY GOOD - i was SO pleasantly surprised by the food & I am not even vegan/vegetarian ... Get the TFT. Just do it. It is the best sandwich I have ever had. Somehow the tofu is crispy/crunchy to perfection, like crispy chicken BUT BETTER. And the sauce. It is the perfect sandwich. They have a full bar/cocktail menu on top of it. No fuss, classic cocktails - very solid, I thought. Plus very baby/kid friendly & delightful staff! <3 Will be back again and again.

It’s not often I get the chance to read a restaurant review in The New Yorker, then visit that restaurant in person. That’s exactly how I came to try Superiority Burger on a recent trip to New York. The review was so glowing — especially for a mostly vegan restaurant — that we felt like we had to give it a try. The vibe was great (busy and delightfully chaotic) and the drinks were strong — we drank at the bar and tried some of the snack mix in the vending machine which, as promised, was really good. For dinner, we started with roasted beet salad with scorched pretzel bits, then moved to a collard green sandwich (a big hit), and the Yuba-Verde sandwich, featuring griddled soy-milk skin, chickpeas, broccoli rabe, and mayo on a crusty roll, the most expensive item on the menu at $19. The portions were a bit small so we ended up ordering an extra side of perfectly steamed veggies with a spicy lemon and tahini dressing. For dessert, grilled malted date cake with fresh strawberries and vegan coconut ice cream. Was SB worth the hype? Absolutely, though it’s a pretty small menu. Still, great vegan food at a reasonable price with a fun, funky vibe.
