Max Brenner Nyc

Max Brenner has a lively atmosphere. It was very packed and super busy, bustling with people. The approximate wait time was 30 minutes. We lucked out for 2 people upon entry, the host squeezed the two of us in quickly. You are very near to other people while seated for the meal. I had the Italian Pasta with chicken, seasoned well. The service was excellent, quick to take your order and clean immediately once done. The churro fondue dessert was warm and tasty, all with Christmas music playing in the background. I would say the meals were affordable for 2 with shared desert, 1 alcoholic drink, and 2 lattes - $100 total, which is excellent, especially in Manhattan.

From start to finish I was back and forth whether I liked this restaurant. We went on a Saturday and had reservations and still waited over 20 minutes. Our waiter was super nice and knew a lot about the menu. There is only one bathroom with two stalls, but food was good. On to the food! We had the classic fondue with milk and dark chocolate and it came with a great caramel sauce. I added an extra fruit bowl and it was plenty for 4. Mac n cheese and Italian pasta was good but my wings were overcooked. We ordered the oreo hot chocolate and marshmallow. The marshmallow hot chocolate you are given a choice between milk, white and dark chocolate, the oreo comes as is and it is dark. Pricing was about what you would expect in a nice NYC restaurant and they have cute gifts! Glad I tried it? Yes. Would I go again? Probably not.

Max Brenner’s is a cute spot for a meal and yummy chocolate. They have several chocolate drink choices and several chocolate dessert options too. I would call it a place for some decent bar type foods, just add the chocolate element to it. I noticed a lot of couples on dates here as well as families. It can get busy so be prepared to wait if you get there at the wrong time of day.

Yes, go inside; it’s beautiful. It’s hard to tell from just walking by but the inside is spacious with lovely decor. My friend and I shared the baked cookie dream during a quick meetup and it was warm, delicious, divine, and hard to put your spoon down!! Just bite after bite of yum. The staff is so nice and the space is a relaxing treat in the buzz of union square. There’s also a shop inside to get gifts.

Very good deserts and the spinach with artichoke dip was great! We had banana waffles and Nutella crepé. We were serve with a very attentive waitress. All good but the place could be a little bit more careful with the cleaning... we had to ask to change our water glasses because were dirty and the table sticky (for all the sweets I guess but still). Overall nice place for a date
