Nestled amongst a plethora of “international” restaurants on Thompson, lies a surprisingly good Italian restaurant. It’s rare that I spontaneously find myself in an eatery and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The ambiance was warm and authentic. The staff is equally so. Lunch started off with three, small pieces of focaccia bread and aromatic olive oil. Followed by a simple yet very satisfying mixed green salad with lemon dressing. Next, we had a plate of sardines that were accompanied by little, fried chickpeas. The combination was delightful. Our main course consisted of two well prepared pastas. The first was a light and fluffy ricotta gnocchi with fennel red sauce. The undisputed winner was a cavatelli with watercress pesto and crumbled sausage with a hint of chili pepper. We accompanied our meal with the delicious wine blend and a crisp blood orange IPA. Our server was attentive and bright. I definitely recommend this restaurant if ever desiring a taste of well executed, humble Italian fare.

Baccalà, Pajata, Trippa? All in one place, all done to perfection, and affordable in NYC terms? I was in heaven. What an outstanding food experience! Thankfully, we were seated in the back, which was quieter, so we could hear each other--which led to full enjoyment of our food. Also, we were recommended a terrific Barolo at an unbelievable price point. That made the heavens sing.

Very nice, old school Italian spot! Loved the dim lighting and vibe of the place, only thing I didn’t like was the music playing. But as for the food, enjoyed the focaccia they bring out! The wine is enough for a glass and a third. Really liked the rigatoni gricia and the paparadelle was handmade and very light! For dessert we loved the affogato and the tartufo!

I love Italian food and couldn't wait to try this restaurant. When I arrived I parked on the street not too far. When I walked in, I was greeted by James the host, and he was very nice. The restaurant was so cute! Adrian was the bartender, Marco was my server, and Ian was the GM. They were all great! I started with an espresso martini, which was great. I then had an amazing red wine. For my appetizer, I had the Arancini di Mozzarella, and it wasn't bad. It was nice and cheesey. For my meal, I got the Black Spaghetti with Spicy frutti di mare. I really enjoyed my entrée. It was very different and melted in my mouth. I really enjoyed the food, drink and service!

My friend and I had the pasta tasting with wine pairing. Great portions. In general, way too salty. I understand certain elements make it salty but this was a little bit too much. Still good though.

Came for a nice dinner with my girlfriend while we were in NY last summer. Our meals were both delicious and it was great to try some Roman style Italian food. The arancini & crispy brussels sprouts sprouts were both excellent as well as our main dishes. Definitely holds up in a city filled with many excellent Italian spots and would recommend a visit here.

Make sure you make a reservation for dinner because it gets busy very fast! Food was delicious and staff were very friendly. I would love to come back and try some of the other pasta options. Highly recommend the lamb dish which is the perfect amount for 3 people. You can expect to pay around $50-$100 per person (depending on drinks), but the price is worth it. There is outdoor seating as well but I did not see anyone there since it was a pretty cold night.

I tried their Tartufo, cacio e Pepe, burrata, pesto beets. The pasta and dessert were my favorite. Cacio e Pepe was creamy and delicious. The spot gets super crowded during Friday night so reservation is a must. They also have a lovely outside seating space. My friends tried the crispy duck and loved it. Staff is friendly too. They have wine by small carafes and I liked the wine I tried.

Love this place . The wine was giving it. Meatballs tasted like pure meat and it is good quality. Branzino fish was flavourful and seemed fresh. It went perfect with Brussel Sprout. I love how the season this veggie! Cocio de pepe was amazing I would definitely go back to the pasta . Sei Chianti was very easy to drink as it is very light but so savoury. I want to give this place 10 stars for food, wine and dessert. Tiramisu was one of the best ones I have ever had .

First of hopefully many visits to this delightfully cozy establishment. Extensive wine list and steady advice for pairings. The meatballs alone are reason enough to return! Portions are appropriately sized. Everything I have samples thus far has been delicious. Very well done 👍

Walked in on a Saturday night and was greeted right away, we picked our own table in the corner which was great. The service is by far the BEST. My glass never went down more than half way with water! The Somali helped me with selecting a wine (great recommendation) we order the octopus and a spaghetti dish. They even sent over a complementary tray of sliced meats. The service and food is just amazing, I almost wanted to hug everyone on the way out lol Thank you!

Italian mainstay in the Village, my first visit. Wonderful server and pleasant ambiance. Appetizers were good and well prepared but pretty ordinary. Good cocktails. I had the cod, not a particularly Italian preparation but very tasty and fresh. Points deducted for the contorni (side dishes), lackluster, chewy and frankly kind of weird. The place was packed at 8 pm on a Monday night so they must be doing something right.
