Culture was on my go-to list for coffee in NYC, and of all the coffee places I visited in my 2 month trip, it stood out because of its heavenly chocolate chip cookies.

The cookies have a beautiful outer crust and when you bite in, you meet lots of chocolate with a gooey inside. Also ordered a Latte which had an absolutely silky texture and accompanied the cookie really well.

I think I’ve found some of the very best chocolate chip cookies in New York! Sure, sure, I hear you saying…everyone thinks they know where to get the best choc-chip fix in the Big Apple. But wait! Before you poo-poo my presumptive proclamation, you HAVE to, no MUST, try the cookies at Culture Espresso over on West 38th St. Oh and it goes without saying, that with a name like Culture Espresso, the coffee is a must do too.

When you tell someone about Culture, it sounds as if you are talking about a designer or some nice boutique in Soho. Well, its not even close. For anyone who loves good coffee, knows about Culture - this is one of many joints in NY City located 2 blocks down from Bryant Park on Ave of America's on 38th St.

So on your visit to Midtown, a visit to Culture is a must. They have decent options in Bagels, Muffins & Cup-Cakes - but I step in for a nice hot cuppa. My friends tell me this is to do with the machine they use to make coffee. The milk is heated @ right temp, the way it is poured - all on right symphony for making good cup of coffee. The place is packed after lunch or early office hrs - almost every time I have 3-4 people ahead of me in the queue.

It has couple of tables, but mostly occupied. I have been in & out (almost every time)with my cuppa, so I can't say about food or services they offer (wifi). They serve with a smile & are polite, but you do have to wait...On my visits, the food did seem scrumptious ;) but to be honest I have never tried (I wonder why). May be visit before lunch hrs one of these days.
Now to talk about the Coffee - From Espresso, Macchiato to Classic Latte - every cup to every sip, demands perfection.  Its a must visit for any coffee lover & anyone else who wants a good perfectly brewed cuppa if they visit mid-town.

Next time - muffins & bagels :)

The mocha was great, not too sweet. Definitely more authentic than Starbucks or second cup mochas. I love the decor too. Gorgeous on the inside! The raspberry muffin was delicious :) it was a very busy place!

A great cup of Jo in the heart of midtown. Intelligentsia coffee; baristas who know how to micro texture the foam; double-sized baskets for the coffee all translate into intense flavorful espresso, superb macchiatos, and delicious cordtatos.

That said, their plain old coffee is so good that sometimes I forget the hand-brewed drinks and just get a great cuppa.

They do perfect flat whites, yes flat whites and a superb macchiato, even if it contains more milk than its Australian cousin.

I’m really not a cookie person, but the cookies at @cultureespresso left a great impression. It’s a cookie shop in disguise! Definitely one of the best I’ve had in the city. Deliciously crumbly and moist inside, and goes well with a cup of coffee to balance the sweetness.

THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE I HAVE EVER EATEN…. And I’ve tried a lot of cookies. The service was great. While it’s small inside, like any spot in Manhattan I was grateful there was some seating & tables available. My partner got a cappuccino & I got a mocha latte. Both were smooth and creamy, truly delicious! We both got our own chocolate chip cookie & had to grab an additional half dozen for later! We also tried the corn cookie later at home and it was also delicious, but the chocolate chip is still number one. They had a crisp outer edge with a melty middle. They were chunky, gooey, & not too sweet! I would honestly cater these at my wedding they were so good. Highly recommend!!

I can only base my review on their cookies but 100000% up to the hype in my opinion. Every time I’ve went the cookies never let me down. The chocolate chip is their most popular but if you wanted to try their others they know how to make great cookies. Crisp and chewy. Great the next day. Tried their other flavors like their corn bread, cranberry, and black and white were so delicious. The black and white was def on the sweeter end but paired with milk? Perfection. Also shoutouts to the staff who made me feel supported when I asked for one of each cookie haha. They do have seating if you wanted to enjoy the aroma of great smelling coffee.

This place is so cute!!! I saw online they were known for their chocolate chip cookies- so I just had to stop by! Next time I'm in NY I will have to try one of their lattes! Their cookie was delicious, I can see why it has won awards! It was soft and had a ton of chocolate chips!

The award-winning cookies were excellent and the coffee made from quality ingredients was impressive, but the best part was how earnestly the barista prepared the coffee, which really enhanced the experience. They use Oatly barista version for oat milk, ensuring that the espresso doesn’t have an unnecessary bitterness. The cookies were pricey, but delicious.

A very solid dark chocolate chip cookie, and the latte itself was decent too. I came here to try the cookie, and I do have to say it was slightly too rich for me, even though I am someone that LOVES dark chocolate in a cookie, I think there was too much chocolate in the middle and not enough cookie. The edges are crisp and light, the inside fudgy, which is exactly how I like it. I just think they added a little bit too much chocolate. Not too large of an interior, but good for working if you are able to snag a table. No bathrooms :(

Genuinely the best coffee in Manhattan (& I’m from Australia)! The coffee tastes heavenly. The staff and service are so nice, everything is takeaway and the food items they have like the Choc chip cookies are to die for! They are known for their cookies so try to early in the day before they sell out. Expect a line of people out the door to order, but it does move quickly and there is limited seating inside, but it is 100% worth a visit (or keep going back like I will be!)

Oh my god this is hands down the best cookie I have ever eaten! They weren’t lying when they said this cookie was more than just good. The cookie is quite expensive with it being at $4.50 each cookie. This is going to be my go to cookie place from now on. The inside is small and you might not find a place to sit down.

We kept walking by the Cultures sign stating to be the best cookie in NYC. I can’t say I’m an expert in cookies, but we decided to give it a go. We ordered the best selling chocolate chip cookie and the cornbread sugar cookie. Both lived up to the hype. The cookies were warm and soft in the centre with the perfect crisp edge. The amount of chocolate chips were generous and the cornbread hybrid was the perfect mix. The cafe was quaint and the service was friendly.

I am seldomly blown away by a coffee shop, as I only ever order a cold brew or a black americano. What do you want from me though? Get milk, or worse, a milk alternative in my coffee? It wasn't long ago when my Croatian ancestors had their backs to the Adriatic Sea with a black coffee and cigarette in the left hand and a pickaxe in the right hand ready to storm the battlefield and fight to the death for their independence. What kind of man would I be to get my coffee with oat milk with this blood running through my veins smh. Don't even get me started on my Mexican Heritage....... All this to say Culture Espresso is one of the FEW coffee shops to have blown me away. I ordered a hot americano with a cup of ice on the side. My big homie Millan asked, like you are likely wondering, "Why the cup of ice?" THE CUP OF ICE BECAUSE I WANT TO DRINK MY COFFEE RIGHT WHEN IT COMES BUT IT WOULD TORCH THE WHOLE INTERIOR OF MY ORAL CAVITY, SO I JUST DROP A FEW ICE CUBES IN TO MAKE IT HOT, YET DRINKABLE. Sorry, my dear reader, my fuse is a bit short rn as we lost our men's league basketball game last night on the last possession. Pain. But to appreciate the sun you gotta know what rain is… Anyways, this was legit the best americano I've had in nyc. It made me feel as though I am at a cafe in Cinque Terre where I can smell the fresh espresso being ground in the back, as I order an espresso doble with the cute Northern Italian employee lives in Milan but comes to Cinque Terre to work for the summer because of the busy season. Wait.... y'all are still going to Positano!?!?!? Couldn’t be me!! (LeBron laughing emojis) I'm not a cookie guy, but my big homie Millan got one as he pointed to the sign that said "Award Winning Cookies." I took a bite as to be polite, since he is the big homie after all, and THEY REALLY NOT LYING ON THAT SIGN THAT COOKIE WAS MF HEEAAAAATTTTT!! Wow. It was spiritual. And again, I don't even like cookies like that. Millan said the article he is doing on me and my borderline deranged reviews comes out next week, so I am a bit nervous to see what that will be like but my Croatian ancestors had it way worse. How could I ever complain? I think I will come to Culture to get one half of my coffee and cigarette combination to calm the nerves before I read it. THANK YOU CULTURE! THANK YOU CUP OF ICE ON THE SIDE YOU THE REAL MVP! IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__
