Food was absolutely delicious, though it's expensive and portions are small. I had high expectations coming in and was not disappointed. We went for restaurant week. We didn't love the tuna tartare, but the chicken yakitori, sea bass, and sushi were all sublime. Best tuna roll I've ever had. It was super busy, but staff were very friendly and attentive.

The food and service is what you expect from a fine dining place. We did the 8 course tasting menu which was so fun. If you are looking for a unique experience outside of good sushi and played entrees I highly recommend it. The restaurant is very modern. There were people dressed in business casual to jeans and a t-shirt. Sometimes famously owned restaurants can not live up to the hype, but this place was quality through-and-through.

The foods are fantastic!!! A bit pricey, but it’s still acceptable. We tried the omakase, and there were no regrets. Every course are so good and yummy. I’ll let the pictures talk for themselves.

This is hard to review. I did Omakaee. The food was EXCELLENT!! But the price was very high. I know there is a premium for the name and location, and I'm fine with that. But I was still hungry when I left. It's hard to give 5 stars given the amount I spent. So, if you know that and you're cool spending a ton of money for high quality Japanese food, definitely give it a shot!! For me, the price was too high and I will probably pass on my next trip.
The service was A+. I highly recommend the Sake pairings.

The food was absolutely amazing. The seasonal sashimi and the main course was well presented and very delicious; we ordered the "Surf and Turf" and the "Yakitori (the grilled chicken with crispy rice)". The uni was definitely the highlight of the night, it tasted soo good, as if it was fresh from the ocean, I was so excited that I forgot to take a photo of it and just went for it haha! Remarkable dessert presentation and very delicious as well, I highly recommend the Flaming Chocolate Ball.Overall a great experience and had an amazing anniversary dinner with my boyfriend! Cheers!

This was a surprised anniversary dinner. It was by far the most amazing dining experience. The staff was attentive and helpful. The restaurant ambiance was relaxing with just enough amount of light. All the dishes arrived at the table were explained thoroughly. Thank you for the superb food and service.

Fantastic food! Beautiful ambiance! Fantastic service! Definitely a must go whenever in New York City! I had been to other Morimoto restaurants but the one in New York City really stands above! It was an awesome experience from start to end! I really recommend it for those who like great Asian food and fantastic service!

My family and I were sightseeing in NYC and could not find a single restaurant that could take us. As a last ditch effort we called Morimoto's and luckily, they were able to squeeze us in. The customer service and staff was very attentive and accommodative. The architectural design of the restaurant was beautiful and the food was exceptional. We ordered the waygu beef hot river stone which we cooked ourselves. The tempura sweet potatoes sounded interesting and tasted great. The third appetizer we got was the gyoza which was served differently than I had ever had. For entrees, a miso as well as an udon soup and the salmon. All of the food was outstanding and I would highly recommend.

Some of the best food I've ever had. Went for restaurant week but quality did not suffer. Strongly recommend the black cod (not pictured) and the sweet potato tempura. Great spot for a special occasion

Came here during the restaurant week. Got a reservation and was served promptly.
I got a chicken meatball, black cod and a sesame dessert for $42. This is of very good value considering the restaurant’s normal pricing.
The black cod was well seasoned - sweet yet not too saucy. The meat was tender and juicy. It went well with the rice, which was also of high quality.
The chicken meatball was normal. Putting lemon sauce made it a little better. The desert was good.
The drink I ordered was fruity. Pretty refreshing.
The service was fast and friendly. Overall a nice experience!
