Warm welcoming atmosphere. Sam the bartender was very pleasant , friendly and engaging.Makes great drinks. The pizza is fantastic .Plenty of toppings and great taste Perfectly crisp. The stuffy though was a very dense breading with little to no flavor. The lobster chowder was good.Plenty of lobster but I missed the corn. The food came out perfectly hot The hardest part is parking

My family and I ended up at this restaurant after we showed up at Kimberly's and realized they weren't open for lunch. I'm happy that they had outdoor seating, because we had our dog with us. The food was served pretty quickly and it wasn't expensive. I ordered the lobster roll, which was pretty good, especially because I don't enjoy mayonnaise. Besides the other two photos of food that I attached, which were the Local burger and fish tacos, we also got a caesar salad. It was normal. My parents complained that the burger and tacos were leaking too much juice, and three quarters of my plate was just potato chips, so that's why it's a solid 4 stars. I'm also a little curious about whether everyone got chips, or if some people got fries as the default side. Also, there was a nice bird :))

Cool gritty pub atmosphere. I was a bit apprehensive coming here reading some reviews…However, so glad I did. The smokehouse burger and fries were perfect! Plenty of beers to choose from.

We were in the island 4 days and ended up eating here 3 times. We were very impressed by the food quantity, quality, and quickness. The lobster roll had a generous amount of delicious fresh lobster. The Mac and cheese was well made and came in a small cast iron pan. One of the servers said people don’t order the spinach artichoke dip enough and they are missing out… and she was right. Creamiest cheesiest dip served in a bread bowl. Fries have a nice salt on them. Our final time there one of us ordered the veggie burger for the first time-it was a strange taste and texture and looked as though it had freezer burn. The server told us they are not frozen so that couldn’t be the case and that what we were seeing was Panko. We asked to order something else which is not something we typically do and even though it was very busy, they accommodated and were kind about it. Nice indoor and outdoor seating options, bathrooms are private room/typical bar fare. Looking forward to coming back next trip here!

Had a fantastic meal here - the mac and cheese with lobster was excellent (and FILLED with lobster) and the buffalo wing dip was a big hit. Prices were reasonable for the island and the service was excellent. It was October and we were still able to sit outside on the porch which was really nice! Off season so parking wasn't terrible (we just parked in the lot across the street).

This was our last meal on the island before heading home. We wanted to try something a little less expensive but still good. This was perfect! I'm terrible with names but our server was great! She checked in the perfect amount even though two huge groups came in right after us. The music was a great change of pace to what we usually heard around the island (I'm not a huge country fan) and the food was hot and delicious. My wife had one of the specials (Tuna burger) and it was amazing. We will make this a regular stop!

We were famished after walking to Southeast Light. We stopped on our way back to the center of town and asked a COS for his recommendation. Although a bit out of the way, we walked past many restaurants in the downtown area and found Poor People's Pub as directed. Our initial reaction was a bit of disappointment. Having been out in the sun, walking, for close to 5 hours, we just wanted to sit inside and relax. The hostess indicated we could a) sit at the bar (no thank you) or b) sit outside (no cooling off in a/c). There was a 'bigger' table inside but she said she needed to keep that open for larger parties. We agreed to sit outside and then were seated at a 'wine-barrel' type hi-top table where we had to sit bow-legged for the entire meal...a bit uncomfortable. Meanwhile, there were 2 nice looking empty picnic tables that sat empty for most of our meal; about 10 minutes before we left, they sat a party of 2 people at one of them. If I had known, I'd have asked to be moved, but assumed we'd be told the large tables are for larger parties. Onto the meal...because so far I wasn't feeling like we should stay. My husband ordered the steak frites sandwich; I ordered the Italian. Our meals came with chips but we decided to upgrade to fries which were an additional $2. When our meals came, they were definitely ample servings for the price. There was no way either of us could pick up our sandwiches and eat them...we needed forks & knives! Eating outside, there's a caddy on the table with plastic cutlery, plenty of napkins, and condiments. My plate had arrived with a good sharp knife from inside, but the plastic cutlery on the table was the low-end stuff that bends if the slightest amount of tension is put on it. After managing for about a third of the meal, we finally flagged down the waitress and asked for flatware from inside. She was very accommodating. My husband enjoyed his meal, but seriously, my sandwich was the star of this show! It had everything(!) on it...peppers, olives, pepperoncinis, lettuce, artichoke hearts, onions, etc. etc., along with melted cheese, toasted bread, and all the Italian meats! First time to Block Island and if/when I ever go back, I'm going to want this "sandwich" again. It was delicious!

Stopped by for a bite before hopping on the ferry, service was on point, seated within minutes, drinks within 5, everything we had was great, had the prosciutto and fig pizza and it was simply amazing, one of the best pies I have ever had. Will be going back here next time we visit BI, highly recommend
