Unlike many of the 1 star reviewers- I've actually been here many times. Extremely affordable drinks, very down to earth bartenders and owner. The crowds here are always welcoming and we always make friends when we go. I used to go see Pete when he was still a bartender at another local bar, and he's successfully run Prytania Bar for several years now with that insight. He knows how to talk to people and seems to be a great boss to his employees. Many people are blindly leaving 1 star reviews because someone doesn't like the owners political views and one website has people falsely attacking him so let me set a few things straight 1. The bar does not have a kitchen. They have local food trucks and restaurants serve food sometimes or do crawfish boils and things so reviewers that are judging the 'kitchen' have never been here 2. I knew the owner personally and he never turned away non-violent customers / reasonable people. He prioritized safety for his patrons and always handled rowdy/ drunk clients with grace and empathy. 3. This isn't a touristy bar and isn't really in a touristy area so the reviews upset that it isn't a touristy bar are sort of irrelevant. As a local who has made friends with people out of town at this bar- I don't see the problem for either locals or tourists enjoying a drink here. If you like laughs drinks and good people come here. If not stay in Idaho or continue waiting for the south to rise again.

I had one of their burgers recently, and it was really good. The patty was well-seasoned. Came with fries that had Cajun seasoning on them. Only $8. Good portions.
