I don't even LIKE BBQ ribs and the ribs here were SPECTACULAR!! We were on vacation here and were sick of the overpriced touristy restaurants so we went exploring for some more local food and after a long time settled on Fred's BBQ. Fred himself served us and gave us a free rack of ribs to try out. SUCH a sweet man. Food was delicious and the best BBQ I've ever had. Since moving from my southern hometown to the SF Bay I've tried a lot of "southern soul food" that never quite lived up to the hype. Fred made us feel like family. Not kidding. That potato salad tasted like my grandma made it! When I come back to New Orleans I'm absolutely eating here again! I wish the best for Fred because he really deserves it!!!

One of best soul food restaurant's I ever ate at. Bar-b-que chicken well seasoned and falling off the bone. Bar-b-que ribs just as tender as it want to be. Mac and cheese delicious. And omg the sweet candied yams 😍😍😍😍(which is one of my favorite potatoes) was on point. Everything was A+ 100!!!!! I will be Back!!!
