Fresh and delicious seafood at a very reasonable price! It's great to be able to pick up some fresh filets and cook them the same day. They even have a great selection of frozen seafood and fish.
There are a lot of seafood markets in the area, Schaefer is my go-to. I'm super impressed and will continue to buy from here.

Crawfish is always delicious and I love that they boil cloves of garlic.
I just wish the potatoes were more tender and they kept it in a steamer or hot liquid so it wouldn't be so dry.

No photos, we ate all 20 lbs. Great sizes, texture was perfect and flavor just like a crawfish should taste. My fave seafood market for over 30 years!

The staff at Schaefer Seafood went above and beyond with service on Mardi Gras morning. I need love crawfish for my Mardi Gras festivities and I had failed to order ahead on other establishments. Thinking I was dooms I tried Schaefer’s last and on top of helping me before they were open they even helped size my order.
Can’t recommend this place enough, great people, products, and selection.

The best seafood. The most caring and friendly family. Simply amazing.
This is my go to spot for raw seafood. I get my oysters by the sack, crabs by the hamper, crawfish by the sack, and shrimp by the pound from here. It's always fresh and delicious.
The owners will always go the extra mile and get you the right products. They regularly open earlier or later to accommodate my schedule to pick up.
They're just the best. I've never had a bad experience.

I’ve been coming down from Georgia to work in Louisiana for about 10 years. I usually bring back coolers of seafood. I gotta say that Schaefer’s is the best I’ve found…from Sulphur to New Orleans. They are super helpful and they’re prices are great. I’m gonna say something that many haven’t, but their crab cakes are the best I’ve ever had! Never had a bad experience at this place, and I highly recommend. Will continue to drive to Bucktown because I know it is fresh and I’ll be taken care of!
