Pleasantly surprised for the meal and the price. Nice family restaurant and staff. Trying the Chicken and waffles. Will definitely be I spot for a late breakfast or brunch.
The JuJu Bag is a must. As many times as I have passed by when visiting my parents I never stooped in until now for lunch. The service was nothing short of your family kitchen. I had the tomato basil soup which was outstanding and the smoked salmon wrap which was delicious. Most of all the conversation with the owner Ms Tommye fin and enriching. This will be a regular stoo when I visit NOLA.
This place is too good. The red beans and jerked chicken are amazing. The lemonade is nearly perfect too. My only complaint is the wait time, but that's okay because the food is worth it.
AMAZING people and food!!!!. Happened upon this great cafe by chance and I love it. It worth the little drive from the Lower Garden District for such good food. The staff is so friendly. Can't wait to go back. Recommend to everyone.

I am reluctant to share this with you because this place has become my personal refuge. But since sharing is caring....
The JuJu Bag Cafe has two things that make it a great place to eat, relax and hangout: Ambience and Great Food!
With the mellow colors and music, they have created a very warm and relaxing atmosphere that embraces you and encourages you to stay. I often eat and just sit for a couple of hours, indulging myself in relaxation. To facilitate this even more, there is an expansive patio in the rear for you to soak up a little nature with your beverage and meal.
While advertised as vegetarian and vegan, there are some delicious fish and chicken items on the menu for the carnivore in all of us. Some of my favorites have been the Salmon Burger on Flatbread with the Dijon Mustard, as well as the Avocado Salad and the Grilled Chicken Panini with the Raspberry Vinaigrette Sauce. My favorite beverage has become the Hot Chai Tea. The portions are ample and satisfying!
If that was not enough, there is good entertainment that goes along with the good food.
On Thursday nights there is the 'Word Connection' open mic spoken word show. A variety of poets share their prowess at combining word, rhyme and rhythm. So come by and have a listen, be inspired and speak on it!
On Friday nights there is a jazz ensemble that plays beautiful music that will certainly provide the rhythm to aid in the peristaltic action of your rhythmic digestion.
Also, from time to time, there are theatrical productions staged out in the expansive patio area.
The JuJu Bag has you covered, mind, body and soul. So, with all of this, can you understand why I wanted to keep this to myself? So now my secret is out.
Come and join me!
Fabulous. My group was very pleased. We loved the roasted turkey wing and the okra & shrimp! Worth grabbing a cab.
It's a great foodie place I loved the jazz on Friday night , the patio is a wonderful surprise the drinks were very good. We had shrimp and grits was delightful , but the bread pudding topped off a wonderful evening. Very laid back and very friendly service.I am going back and taking my girl friends for a night out.
Ambience. I loved the jazz that was the backdrop to a delicious meal. I was so comfortable, I didn't want to leave.
A little pricy and a very long wait, but so worth it.everything was delicious.best hashbrowns ive evr had.the eggs florentine was excellent and the veggie omelet was awesome!
This place is new and underappreciated. I like it for the lack of a line but they deserve more traffic because the food is exceptional. With savory and sweet stuffed beignets, a comforting ambiance and back porch with a real local hometown feel. And they make a mean mimosa. I would suggest that they add coffee and a few more alcoholic beverages. Irish coffee would make this place complete.
(Correction) There is a full bar in the back.
I enjoyed this establishment because of the personal service my party and I received. Tired from our travels, as we got there the place was closed as it was getting ready for the dinner shift (it was mid afternoon). Yet the owner of the restaurant generously let us in and made us feel welcome as food was served to us. The food tasted very great too, nice people working there who served us even though they weren't supposed to. I loved it
Can't believe I hadn't been to this great little independent cafe before, despite working at Brindley Place for 10 years!
We arrived at just after 1pm, and we were seated straight away but I'd recommend booking to guarantee your table. We decided to go for the shared Full English platter for two, and it didn't disappoint (although they appeared to have run out of mushrooms)...I got to eat all the beans whilst hubby had all he eggs...everyone was happy.
Mother daughter owned restuarant with AMAZING food!! I love the kick bag atmosphere and the friendly family feeling I got walking in the door! I even got extra order of the grilled shrimp beignets and the sausage beignets to go for lunch tomorrow!! Definitely would recommend this place to ANYONE! We will return as soon as possible!
They have a unique selection of food here. I've been here twice & ordered the same thing & both visits. Both equally satisfying! Surf & Turf beignets are great! The beignets themselves put me in the mind of an egg roll or a cho cho, but a slightly different crisp texture to the outside & a soft inside to assist the beef & shrimp inside. I also had a delightful cucumber strawberry lemonade blended together nicely.
Today was an ordinary rainy day until I decided to try this new restaurant!!! Form start to finish my experience was amazing!!! The Food is totally amazing!!! The woman who cooked my meal was so down to earth and welcoming!!! The atmosphere was so relaxing and the music just made it so much better!!! πππ
I love Ms. Carol! She makes sure all of her patrons are well taken care of. The ambiance is very spiritual! And the food is to die for! Oh and I can't forget about the rum punch... πππ. I will definitely be back anytime I'm in New Orleans.

They had an amazing catfish po boy and their strawberry stuffed beignets were amazing! The staff were very friendly and made me laugh powder sugar everywhere! It was a good time.
Super chill neighborhood spot. Really cool outdoor area. Live jazz on Friday nights! Don't come here if you're looking for a quick meal, come here if you're looking for amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere.
