The food is average, if not slightly above. The restaurant, on a 90-degree day, struggles to maintain a comfortable temperature. That and the occasional smoke from the kitchen. The service was friendly but one person during lunch rush resulted in slow service.

We were looking for a quick bite to eat after the Zoo - with three small kids in tow. This was the perfect place - large frozen margaritas for the parents, quick service, delicious food - nothing fancy and that's exactly what we were looking for. Nothing was too spicy (which is perfect when sometimes my kids find mint to be too spicy!) And everything was delicious 😋 we will be back!

One of the BEST! I've been a fan of this authentic Mexican taqueria since it first opened nearly 4 decades ago. The menu is simple but adequate; the food is delicious and consistently well-prepared; the service is prompt and courteous. It is a neighborhood favorite.
The only downside is a dearth of convenient parking. There is NO on-street parking on that block of Magazine. However, one can usually find a spot in the neighborhood, if you're willing to hike a block or so. The walk is well worth it!

Always my go-to when I need a good dinner last minute! Yhe pricing is great for the amount of food you get. And the employees are always friendly.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 30 years now and it’s been consistently delicious throughout the years. The menu has changed very little over the years with some additions. I’m a huge fan of the flavors, the fresh ingredients, tasty grill, ambiance, and the kind and welcoming staff.
My favorites:
Fish taco… the best
Chicken Taco
Shrimp Flauta
Taco salad
Cebolitas
Jennifer Calzada
Nothing fancy, but one of the best mexican food spots in New Orleans. Best fish tacos I've had outside of San Diego.

I gave 4 stars b/c the first question asked 'do you have proof of vaccine'. We were allowed to order 'to go'. We were allowed to stand at the hostess/register station just inside the door.
Food was freshly prepared within our view. Taco salad is simple and delicious. Lettuce to other salad ingredients is the best ever. The california burrito is unexpectedly huge 😳, and worth every bite. Cost is minimal, however chips and salsa must be ordered. Frozen margaritas were very good.

It's been the same great place for 20 plus years. Numero Uno is my go to order and it never disappoints. The flautas are the best.

Love this place! Especially love the brunch on the weekends. For $12 the carne asado tostada can't be beat. Plus delicious margaritas!

Food was good for me and my two friends. I got a shrimp quesadilla, my friends got some tacos. We all had a great time and the food tasted great as well. Portions arent bad either.

Been going there for over a decade, always spot on food, kicked back atmosphere but attentive service

The food is incredibly delicious. Some of the best Mexican I've ever had. Very friendly staff. Our servings were brought out quickly. Prices are reasonable. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.

A great Mexican find in the neighborhood! We ordered the numero tres which was more than enough for two hungry people. We upgraded two tacos to tongue and carne asada ribeye. The star of the show was by far the carne asada deliciously served with a grilled green onion, on par with some of our favorites in Mexico. My wife enjoyed the chorizo taco but it was too heavy on pork flavor for me. The guacamole was solid and the jalapeno slaw was great and spicy, too! The rice and beans were great as well. We chose the shrimp flauta which was a nice combo of shrimp and cheese. The burrito was the weakest link, mostly beans and not much meat. Minus star for no free chips and salsa (which was heavy on the lime, almost like ceviche without the fish).

Amazing fish tacos. Cozy atmosphere and fast service.

The best thing on their menu is the tacos. They're great! Their sauces (queso, guacamole, salsa) are also fantastic, fresh, and so delicious. The service is also great.
I did not like the enchilada, WAY too much cheese. Barely anything else. It was shocking.
I also did not like the steak. It was "grey," barely any charring on the outside, huge chunks of fat, and just soft and boring throughout.
You couldn't tell whether it was medium rare or well done - one of those. Probably mostly due to the fact that it was a bad cut of steak.
I like the music, the decor, and great service. Everyone is friendly. We'll keep coming back but now I know what to order and what to avoid!

I always get Mexican pizza and a dessert under 20d

Our favorite neighborhood restaurant! Taqueria Corona continues to prepare and serve the freshest and best-tasting food of its kind in the city! It's the home of New Orleans' original and still the best-tasting fish taco, wonderful shrimp tacos and flautas, fresh and tasty salsa, and a flan that will make you want to always order dessert! As usual, we had a great experience tonight!

I don't think this is a well known place, but so worth going to! Food is great! The service was awesome.

Kid-friendly, fast service, delicious, authentic Latin American food! Taqueria Corona has been our favorite for well over 12 years!

It's all about the fish tacos for us. They are the best fish tacos in town

The shrimp flautas are terrific. The salsa verde (handmade) is especially delicious. The Magazine Street location is the original and the best, but I miss the one in the Warehouse District. It was super convenient.

Service was ok, food was basically purchased from the del taco section at Walmart, there was no effort put into anything, and they over charged the hell out of me. You guys have the location, why not make the most out of it. Get the microwaves out of your kitchen and put in a flat top a 6 burner range and some real kitchen equipment. How can you be proud of an open kitchen that is serving food out of a microwave for $15 dollars!!
