Came here to eat with some friends recently. The place was clean with decent parking available. We started off with some lemongrass wings which were flavorful and had a nice crunch. The ramen was on the pricy side but it came in a big bowl that easily feed more than 1 person. The broth was also flavorful and had a good amount of toppings included. Would definitely come back to try out other items on the menu

The food was delicious but we kept getting the wrong order of Bacos. The staff was super nice about it, and all the food was good so it wasn't a bad experience. I would definitely go back again. I need to try more Bacos!

Ba chi + seems pretty similar to the way it was at the old location, but they changed the menu. I used to go to the Uptown location every other week to order the Thai Basil Jalapeño dish with rice and pickled veggies, but they took it off the menu. Not sure I’ll need to make the trip to Metairie again unless they bring back my old favorite. Sad sad. Bacos still cool and lettuce wraps were good too.

This place is crazy good. Drinking the pho broth warns the heart and soul. If you’re feeling down just come here and drink your sorrows away (with the pho broth). Also the chicken wings are incredibly underrated. The breading is crispy. Definitely recommend the sweet chili sauce. The gyoza is pretty good, but not really traditional because they are deep fried.

I needed a decent spot of a late night meal. So, I decided to give Ba Chi Canteen a try. The staff was really kind and the restaurant was laid back. The food came out quick and hot. I ordered the Shrimp Goi Roll, Korean BBQ Shrimp Baco, and the Chili Shrimp Rice Bowl. Everything was delicious. I would 100% recommend this place, and I will be back!!!

This place is delicious. I’ve been a handful of times and have enjoyed every one of my meals! The Brussels Sprouts are amazing. Crispy and a little spicy. The Gyoza Nachos were fantastic and we dipped many things in the left over sauce on top. Their Noodle bowls and Pho were both delicious as well. Highly recommend.

I am a Vietnamese American, and I don’t always get the opportunity to enjoy authentic French - Vietnamese cuisine. Today was that day, and I’m so glad Ba Chi Canteen was around to help me remember the flavors of my birth home. It is incredible what inviting flavors and beautiful food can do for the soul. My husband and I enjoyed the pot stickers. And the vermicelli bowls. The pork trifecta and the chargrilled pork were terrific. Even the tea, very aromatic jasmine, set the tone for a heartwarming meal. I left lunch already, planning my return to Ba Chi Canteen and a delicious meal. Don’t forget a cup of Cafe Sua Da for the road… hammocks are not available…Lol
Bon Appetite

First time here and can't figure out why we've never heard of it before. Great value for the money and so yummy. We had the Kim chi fries (the Kim chi was not overwhelming at all, I'm usually not a fan), crispy pork gyoza and pork belly Bacos. Everything was delicious!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE !!!! Very delicious food, we got the bacos and HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. We got chicken, steak, catfish, and crab bacos and they were wonderful. Very friendly staff and extremely fast service, we got our food in under 10 minutes! Would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely come back again when in New Orleans. Decent prices too :)

Flank steak Pho was great. Lemongrass chicken vermicelli was way over cooked. Side of rice was $3.00...wow... Need more attentive service and clean restrooms, like scrub clean... a LOT

Great ambience and very close to Tulane University! Awesome prices and of course the food was killer. Amazing tacos. Will definitely go again soon!

I really enjoyed the bacos! however I couldn't even eat the pho because of the thick layer of oil floating at the top (I've had a lot of pho in my life and it was way too much). I wanted to give them another chance thinking it was a bad night, but the pho still had excess oil in it again. Also, the eggrolls used in the vermicelli bowls had no flavor at all. Service was great though!

I go every week!. I love love love Ba Chi. The service is wonderful-everyone is so cheerly and attentive. I have yet to try most of the appetizers, but they look delicious. In my opinion pho is the same everywhere, but it's still great! The spicy lemongrass tofu vermicelli and AMAZING and a very large portion for a reasonable price. I believe the sauce can be on chicken too. So good! The specials always look incredible, but they are not affordable (prices in the $20s). Bacos are all great, but too small for the money :/ I still highly recommend here though.

Amazing. Go here. Seriously lol!!! Hubby and I shared a ba chi pho and it was so good. He had the creamy spicy chicken baco and I had the coconut curry chicken baco....amazing! We also had pork belly spring rolls. This place definitely deserves a 100% rating.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. Love Ba Chi! I've never had a disappointing meal or bad service here. In fact, everything has always been above and beyond the expectation. The food is delicious and fast and the servers are always helpful and happy. I'm lucky enough to live about a block away and it's definitely a go-to on nights I don't want to cook. Highly, highly recommended.

Great Bacos. The pork belly on a steamed bun was delicious. The other food here looks incredibly tasty. It's probably the best looking Vietnamese food that I've ever seen.

Really like this place. The bacos are delicious and the pho tastes really good. And the Vietnamese coffee is great, but it always is.

Authentic Vietnamese on Maple St. A recent evening dinner of appetizers was an experimental tasting menu with a friend . We were not disappointed in the least. The spongy bread with ingredients similar to what one might enjoy in Vietnam was very different. I expect that this is available on the West Bank or N.O. East at many places, but, if you want the experience Uptown on Maple St. at the old Figaro's location at Maple and Burdette I recommend you try it. Bring your own bottle if you want to drink,. So glad they are trying to make a go of it Uptown! Excellent and reasonable.

Best Vietnamese Restaurant Uptown. The food was very good. I had the sweet chile shrimp baco, catfish baco & char grilled pork baco. All good. Nice atmosphere. Good prices. Only complaint was the service very slow.

Bacos, bacos, bacos.... Make ya wanna slap ya mama....

Great even late. I had the Bacos at an event a few weeks ago, and they were super tasty. Usually food at a function with different vendors aren't that great, but these were a hit!

Delicious, but too pricey.. I am a long time fan of Tan Dihn, but it is a trek to the West Bank, so I was glad to hear they opening (this) operation closer to me.

I always thought Tan Dihn had a great deal of flavor and quality for the money -- you get a nice place of food and a drink and you can leave happy for under 15 bucks.

Ba Chi Canteen is no Tan Dihn . On fashionable Maple Street, it caters to the college crowd and moneyed uptown folks. All I had was three different "bacos", and I got to say, they were all delicious, and I spent 10 bucks for a snack, as this was not even close to a meal.

I don't know if "bacos" are authentic -- some people say Tan Dihn is not authentic, but I don't care:, these guys are gifted when it comes to making tasty food. And at Ba Chi canteen, they are going to make money too.

I hope Tan Dihn stays the same.

Ba Chi was fantastic! Be sure to try a coconut curry baco and a lemongrass shrimp with rice dish. Delicious!!

Finally I don't have to go to the West Bank. We are big fans of Tan Dinh and could not wait for this restaurant to open so we didn't have to cross the river to eat amazing Vietnamese food. I will say off the bat that this is not Tan Dinh. The menu at Ba Chi is much edgier but also more approachable, but the food is amazing.

The Bacos are so fun, we ordered four as an app. and were delighted by the variety of flavors in each one. Our favorite was the charbroiled pork (always amazing at Tan Dinh so good to know some things are the same) and the curried chicken (and I hate chicken!).

We ordered Vietnamese coffee just to make sure it was good. It was great. They also offer Boba teas which is awesome.

My boyfriend got the charbroiled pork noodle salad and the vegetables were fresh and plentiful. I ordered the curried beef stew with Roti which is on the starters menu but I am always picking appetizers for meals. The curried beef stew was literally one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. It was incredible. The meat was so tender I could not believe it was still in cubes. The roti bread was very authentic and delicious, like the best tortilla you have ever eaten and the portion was perfect for 2-3 people to split or one of me to eat all by myself without sharing.

I can not wait to come back and try more of this menu.

Also as a side note, there is an entire vegetarian menu on the back. Vegetarians do not even have to sort through all the rest of the menu just skip right to your own private menu for a wide selection where you can eat everything!

And finally, the staff is super sweet and excited about everything they have to offer so ask them questions if you have them.

Ewwwww. Why cant the eastbank of Orleans Parish outside of New Orleans East get a single good Vietnamese restaurant? Everything that opens in the Garden District or Uptown is hailed by those neighborhoods as great, but the truth of the matter is they all suck. Doson House is probably the best on the eastbank, but you still have to go either to New Orleans East, Metairie, the Wank, or Kenner to get good Vietnamese.

Great food, service needs work. I have been three times now. Each time I had bacos which were excellent and the phone is great. Ingredients were good, prep was good, but service needs to be worked out. Overall I liked it and will prob go back but if service doesn't get better they can lose me.

Highly recommend! The dishes I present here are just a fraction of what Ba Chi Canteen has to offer. Try this place for sure, if you’re interested in New Orleans’s pho scene. One thing to note, the service was a bit spotty and slow. I chalk this up to us having a big table (??), but it was a noticeable issue. The food made up for it so I’m willing to forgive it.

With Tan Dinh's growing popularity reaching out to those who live across the river, they’ve finally opened Ba Chi Canteen, however, their menu is a bit more eclectic and draws from Thai, Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese influences. My favorite was...

Just recently Ba Chi Canteen opened on Maple Street, a mere six blocks away from my apartment and I was dying to go try it out. The new restaurant opened in the building that housed Figaro's Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, right across the street from another delightful newcomer Satsuma Cafe. The skies were dumping rain when Anne, Candy and I scrambled into the half-empty restaurant, but we were not deterred and ready to eat! We had a tough time narrowing our choices, so we let go and ordered a lot of food.
