I loved the ambiance and the food was even better than expected. We ordered extra food to take home the next day as we live in Baton Rouge. Thank you Ms Leah Chase
Best damn gumbo. The layers of flavor in every dish were incredible. Awesome fried chicken. The bread pudding had coconut in it, which was a surprise. The okra was perfection in the chicken creole, but the white meat in it was too dry. I’d get the shrimp creole instead. The garlic bread was just meh but I would love to return and try more things on the menu. Make reservations far in advance.
Just wow. This palace is absolutely amazing. The food was so delicious, the drinks were amazing, the service was spectacular, and of course the decor is gorgeous. The history of this place is just awesome too. 100000% recommend, but make a reservation or get there early as they fill up fast.
I had lunch at Dooky Chase Restaurant today and it lives up to it’s reputation. The stuffed shrimp were delicious and just enough for lunch. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, almost like a living museum. The service was good but a bit slow, understandable as it was near noon. A very good old school New Orleans restaurant.
What a fantastic dinner!. A great ambiance to the place, clearly family owned and they are proud. And should be). The gumbo was delicious, the Craw-fish étouffée was rich and delicious. The catfish was sweet, fresh and with the right amount of breading and crunch.
***NO MILITARY DISCOUNT*** Hands down, one of the most delicious meals we have had on our 6-day stay in New Orleans. Excellent atmosphere with a traditional setting. Vibrant colors throughout the establishment. Staff was friendly and had excellent recommendations. We ate red beans and rice with fried chicken. YUMMY! The Leah Chase's Shrimp Clemenceau is FIRE! Three members of our party ordered this, and it was PERFECTION! The kiddos shared a Creole burger with an extra side of Mac and Cheese! Don't miss this place while visiting New Orleans. There is a dress code, so be sure you are dressed appropriately/modest.
Ate here twice, once was 10+ years ago and again very recently. Only had their fried chicken plate (1 leg, 1 thigh, 1 breast) that comes with a side, had jambalaya, and ordered a gumbo cup. Food was amazing! Gumbo had meat to spare, they did not skimped on the meat, which I like. Jambalaya also had good amount of sausage and greatly flavoured. Finally, the fried chicken was the star of the show. We got ours right out of the oil, hot, very crispy but not hard, greatly seasoned, and very juicy. I never had one bite where I was thinking the chicken was dry, unlike many other places. The place is also beautifully decorated with plenty of art paintings, and service is good for the price point.
We had a 15 wait on a late Saturday night w/no reservation. We enjoyed libations at the bar. After placing our order, we were encouraged to view the Art while we wait. We had the gumbo, jambalaya, and peach cobbler. All were exceptional! Fine dining, art and supporting a local legacy. 5 star experience!
I was super excited to come as you hear and read so much history about this place. It was everything I was told and imagined. The first thing you see and feel when walking in is the history this place has. All the staff was exceptional and on point! And the food, the foor was fantastic. Our table had the fried chicken, which was finger lickin excellence. For one order they were able to make it gluten free for my mom!! The Stewed chicken was absolutely delicious! And the same for the Shrimp Clemenceau. This place is a must come and repeat!!
food here was fantastic! the service was a bit on the slower side, but then again the restaurant was full while we were there. overall, it was still a good experience and would love to come back to try more dishes.
I was in Nola celebrating my 55th birthday, and this restaurant was on my daughter's bucket list. We were completely satisfied with our food, the service, and the opportunity to meet, Ms. Leah's daughter. I'm grateful for the words of encouragement she spoke to me as a previous restaurant owner/caterer. I'm beyond encouraged and left there renewed and full! I had the fried chicken with yams, greens, macaroni, and cheese and peach cobbler. My daughter & niece had the catfish, jambalaya, red beans, and rice. I would highly recommend this place.
