Review Broussard's Restaurant & Courtyard - New Orleans

Amazing place! Definitely worth eating at. The bottomless mimosas were tasty - the champagne is really strong. The atmosphere is both cozy and sophisticated, and the wait staff were friendly and fun. Musicians came to our table to play for us - even took requests. Word of caution - MAKE A RESERVATION. They rarely have open tables and will often turn people away. Book way ahead of time as seats fill up FAST.

We had the yummy 3 course meal Santa Brunch. Shrimp and grits were insanely good as was the creme Brulee. We loved the 3 piece jazz trio and the authentic Santa who greeted us at the door. Really lovely!

My friend and I had a great meal here. Service was fantastic, everything was clean and the food was delicious. I got the filet and my friend got the stuffed flounder, it was all incredible! For dessert I had the crème brûlée and my friend had the sin chocolate cake, would definitely go again if back in NOLA

Amazing experience! We had brunch and everything we ordered was so good! The food was fresh and delectable! The Service was wonderful. Live band played Jazz classics and even came to our table for a personalized selection. Atmosphere was welcoming. Dining room is simple and tastefully decorated. Nice mix of locals and tourists. Will absolutely be back!

We think that Broussard’s Restaurant is one of the prettiest in the French Quarter. The architecture and decor is very nice. The food is good with a fairly nice variety of dishes. The service here is always good with friendly servers. We also love the courtyard which is very French Quarter in appearance. The old wisteria vine just outside of the restaurant is the oldest living vine in the City and is picturesque. A great restaurant to visit.

We had dinner at Broussards for Christmas even last night and thoroughly enjoyed it! We ordered the Oysters Broussard and blue crab cake to start, a long with drinks. The bacon in the oyster dish was probably the best thing we had all night! For mains, we ordered the redfish and scallops, and both were delicious. The veggies with the redfish were especially well prepared. We were pretty full at this point, but still made room for creme brulee. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and recommend it to others. A note about attire: I always worry about dressing appropriately and I searched online for attire recommendations for Broussards. I found somewhere that a dinner jacket is recommended, so we dressed up in a suit and evening dress and stuck out a bit in the more casual atmosphere. I don't mind being nicer dressed than others, but my husband wasn't too keen on it. Just an FYI if you are like me and want to press appropriately - I think the general attire is business casual.

SO many good things to say about this restaurant! The food was phenomenal 👌 We started with the Oysters Broussard and let me tell you, not what I expected. I expected some charbroiled oysters. They were AMAZING. For the entrée, I had the Pan-seared duck breast with foie gras dirty rice, braised red cabbage, and duck glace. Also AMAZING. I thought that it was really neat that there was a cocktail menu called, Cocktails Through The Decades. We got through three of them, and my favorite was the The Bee's Knees. Fantastic restaurant!

First time at this restaurant. The service and the food was amazing. Every bite was delicious. I got the alligator gumbo and my husband had the turtle soup. The oyster appetizer was delicious and the main course was also great. I highly recommend this place.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! Broussard’s was the perfect French New Orleans restaurant for our trip. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing and our waiters were so helpful and responsive to us. Now the food… PERFECT! Everything was made and presented beautifully and we ate EVERYTHING! Highly recommend the fried oysters and the friend chicken wedge salad. What a perfect brunch place for our girls trip!

Everything was perfect. The service was amazing. I wish I could be friends with them! We were there during jazz brunch with a three-piece banjo, sax, bass group. Classic jazz, tasteful and not too loud for the space. Food was jaw dropping good. I thought I might be in France for a minute. They had a kids menu and both my kids had waffles. We had the Croque Madam and Josephine Benedict. Will definitely return!

There are no words to describe how delicious the brunch was. Great end to our mini na getaway! I will definitely be coming back. We had creole turtle soup, red chili glazed fried chicken biscuit, southern fried chicken and waffles (to die for), broussards burger (brisket cooked to perfection) and raspberry marscapone stuffed pain perdu.... plus bottomless mimosas ... best brunch I’ve ever had and I love going to brunch. Service was great and the live jazz group going around the room made it even more enjoyable 🥂🍾

By this time next year I expect this place will have sunk beneath the waves unless they (1) change their choice of background music and (2) change their wait staff. When one goes to a fine dining restaurant the music is part of the ambiance. Jazzy contemporary music is a big detraction. We were put off immediately and were hesitant to continue. But we had made the reservation several days in advance and felt that we should follow through, although it became very evident that reservations were entirely unnecessary, - the place was nearly empty. Another couple came and were seated across the room but decided to not stay. After an initial swoop the mostly African-American servers and wait staff disappeared, although we could hear them chattering in the room to the rear. We were attended sporadically, and the tall skinny wine steward finally reappeared to take our order for a couple of glasses of Cabernet. Once we did get our dinner order placed, it was a little patchy. My daughter's turtle soup was barely above room temperature and appeared to have just barely made it from the refrigerator to the table. The young woman with the big top of hair who was our server neglected to include the sliced cheese and the glass of sherry (?) that was supposed to accompany the soup. The wait staff was notable mostly by their absence, very unlike other fine dining places (Arnaud's, Mr. B's , GW Fin's ) where we had dined earlier 3 days of the week. Broussard's suffered considerably by comparison. On the positive side, the saffron shrimp and the truffle chicken were excellent. The chicken was particularly tender and perfectly prepared. I know that the restaurant business is tough. But in New Orleans the expectations are high, need to be met, and Broussard's has fallen off whatever pedestal they may have had. It is unlikely to never that that we will be back.

What can I say, other than if I could give 10 stars I would. We were in New Orleans celebrating a 50th birthday, we arrived at Broussard's for the brunch with unlimited Rosé and Mimosas. It might have been the longest brunch in history! :-) We were greeted warmly, and were serviced by DB! More to come on DB...Since we returned for an evening dinner on our last night two days later, over this period we enjoyed, The Bronzed Redfish, the Crab and Shrimp Omelet Mornay, the Pompano Pontchartrain, the Duck Marengo, the Shrimp Gruyere Gratin, to name a few savories. To fulfill our sweet tooth, we indulged in the bread pudding, the creme brûlée, and of course the Bananas Foster, which are flambéed by your table. Each dish topped the next! All top rated and par to none! The manager, Daniella was ever present and such a hands on leader! Now to DB...I dine out quite a bit and have been fortunate enough to eat around the world, but his attentiveness, food knowledge, and candid recommendations made each visit special. Sir, my ladies salute you! (Eileen, Nancy, Kelli, and Elaine)

We were guests on Saturday February 3, 2018. We arrived early and went to the bar to have a glass of wine. Lee out bartender was delightful. We had an in depth conversation about homeless people in cities across the US. She is insightful and caring. When our table was ready we were seated. Lionel was our server. He is knowledgeable without being pretentious. The portabella mushroom appetizer was delicious. My husband and I both ordered the filet mignon special. My steak was overcooked. Lionel was apologetic and swiftly had a new steak cooked for me. The wait staff worked as team. It was a good experience. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. Will come back again when it is warmer to enjoy the courtyard. Perhaps will enjoy the brunch. Thank You for a wonderful meal.

Amazing food! Had the bottomless mimosa, and they never let it run dry. The bartender was great, very friendly and didn’t seem to mind all of our questions about the city.

Fantastic brunch menu with live music. They come to your table. Please tip the musicians. We had the crab and shrimp Benedict. Other New Orleans favorites on the menu along with outstanding French cuisine. Five Stars!

Horrible service and felt like a complete burden when brought to managements attention they literally did nothing nor did they apologize. I work in restaurants and would never treat a guest like that. I still tipped her over 20 % because two wrongs don’t make a right . Will never return to this place. Food was bad and salty and so was the staff

My favorite place for brunch! We arrived Thanksgiving Day a bit early and was seated immediately. Our wait staff team was attentive and our service almost a little to prompt, we would have like to have a little more time between courses but the food was exceptional and the restaurant beautiful.

Thanksgiving Prix Fixe menu was delicious, as were the specialty cocktails. Our table of eight was often left without water refills or wine refills unless we asked, even though our several bottles were in the ice bucket and our glasses were empty. We were not offered coffee with our dessert, which really surprised me. Must have been short staffed for the holiday. Over all, it is a beautiful room, we loved the strolling Jazz trio. Our servers, though over worked, were very kind, other than forgetting to hydrate us all.

We didn't eat while here but Paul the bartender is the best! The bar has a great ambiance and the staff was so sweet. Paul can make you something off the menu which will be just as amazing as well!

We had a lovely brunch and really enjoyed the jazz trio that performed from table to table. All was delicious and the courtyard was a wonderful way to relax after such a fantastic meal. We will be back soon and often !!! Don and Sterling were our waiters and they were excellent and very accommodating, giving us mimosas and sparkling rosé to go !!! Great day !!!

We get to New Orleans every few years and we always try to hit Broussard’s. The bar and courtyard are happy, elegant and inviting. The dining room has a classic elegance that is rarely found nowadays. The food is beyond excellent. But what brought us back and what will continue to bring us back is the staff. They are warm and personable and they make us feel welcome. At so many places, the service is good and efficient, but there’s an undertone of, “eat and get out.” Not so at Broussard’s. From the moment we arrived until the evening was over, we felt like honored guests.

Awesome brunch spot with live jazz and bottomless mimosas for $12, had the turtle soyp, chicken and waffles, and shrimp and crab omelet all delicious with excellent service!

Went for Sunday brunch on December 17th, they had Santa going around greeting people, they passed out Xmas ornaments to everyone, the musicians went table to table playing your requests, the food was delicious and of course, the bottomless mimosas were great! The topper was they poured us each a plastic cup of mimosas to enjoy while walking around Bourbon Street!
