It’s one of those establishments where you ask a local a good recommendation on a great dining experience in the French Quarter. Sylvains is definitely a prime destination. Great and knowledgeable staff and service in addition to the locations history ( a former carriage house ) that’s an unassuming location on Chatres. A dark and narrow causeway leads you to the outside dining courtyard where we ate. The parpadelle Bolognes pasta was the best I’ve ever had! My wife’s pork shoulder was well prepared and the chefs go to great lengths to craft these entree’s. Their cheese plate rivals some of our own local cheeses in our own hometown. Sylvains left a lasting impression and we will return again. I highly recommend this restaurant. Really great atmosphere and staff 👍🏻❤️
The food was AMAZING! atmosphere is fun and modern, but loud inside so just be aware of that. Dawn our server helped make a already great experience prefect! I highly recommend and will definitely visit again.
We had a really fun lunch at Sylvain. There’s a very nice courtyard, unfortunately in August it’s a little too warm for us to dine outside. The menu is varied and the food is very good. The service is also good and the staff are friendly. Sylvain has a full bar and offers good cocktails, wine and champagne. A nice place to dine and have a drink.

The crew at Sylvain were so extremely accommodating this afternoon. I had a last minute video chat with a client and needed a "quiet" place to settle down. That's hard to find in the French Quarter on a Saint's Sunday but I found it. Ended up ordering the shrimp remoulade and a cocktail. Both were excellent! The shrimp was among the best I've had in New Orleans in quite some time. The chow chow really stood out, the tomatoes were perfectly cooked as were the shrimp. Sorry I didn't take pictures. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great place with great prices. I will be back.

Getting involved with the New Orleans Chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier had been a wonderful way to learn about the city, and the amazing culinary finds that are tucked away on every street that we have wandered down. Sylvain was one of those special finds. They generously donated a raffle to the recent Hot Dish event that the Dames were hosting, and luckily for me, one of my friends won it! What a treat it was to discover and dine at this local spot. We loved our waiter who gave us wonderful recommendations, didn't rush us, and let us have a perfect evening with great friends, cocktails and food. Everything we ordered was cooked just as we wanted it, and we had no problem making the vegetarian in the group happy and well fed as well. Thank you Sylvain for a wonderful evening, and for supporting Les Dames d'Escoffier. I can't wait to go back!
Gem of a restaurant in the French Quarter. Best salad, spectacular corn bread, very delicious and unusual blackened he of the woods mushrooms, mouth watering short ribs and grits. Lovingly presented fresh and hot with attentive wait staff. Reasonable price. Excellent overall!
As a local I’m surprised I haven’t been here more often. Excellent cocktails and food. Friendly staff. Perfect French quarter atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We stopped in for a nightcap on our way home because the ambiance of the space is so cool! The staff was super friendly and the cocktails were delicious! We sat at the bar but their outdoor garden area is really beautiful.
Excellent brunch spot with friendly staff. My friends and I came here for a leisurely meal and had an amazing time.
We ordered the pomegranate mimosa and champagne cocktail to start. They were light, just the right amount of sweetness, and the perfect drinks to go with brunch.
For our meals, we ordered the breakfast sandwich, a side of grits, and the Wagyu beef burger with a fried egg. My friend who ordered the breakfast sandwich said it was the best one she has ever had. The burger was also delicious, which came with the crispiest side of fries. The grits were very tasty, but just note that it is a bit spicy as they mix in their housemaid hot sauce.
What truly stood out from our experience was the excellent service that was provided by Randy who had a great sense of humor. He also treated us to some fun desserts. A very special thank you to Randy for making our dining experience during our trip to New Orleans such a memorable one.
All in all, this is a great spot to stop by for brunch for locals and tourists alike, and I 100% recommend it!
Another great find as we walked the streets of the French Quarter. With no reservation they accommodated is promptly and seated outside in the courtyard. The service was lovely and the food was extremely good. The Market Salad was the best and the ribs, and parpadella was great as well.
Really cool place, and all the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I wish we had gone during the day to sit in the patio, which was very picturesque, but for us, it was late and too cold. The food was good. We had the pairing special, the pasta bologniese, the burger, and the chicken sandwich. The fries and the chicken were so crispy!
Sylvain has long been one of our favorite restaurants in the French Quarter. We went here for the second year in a ton for a out wedding anniversary lunch, and just could not be more pleased with the experience.
The food was top notch, the service was attentive and prompt, and the overall vibe was wonderful as always.
I'd be hard pressed to say that there is a restaurant we enjoy more in the Quarter. You simply can't go wrong by heading to this place..
