Ride To Eat Eat To Ride

I sure have enjoyed the chorizo burrito here. (And I must say, it's all I've ordered because it's hard to find good chorizo burritos.) The salsas they bring out with your food are fresh and authentic. (At least compared to what I've had on a visit to the Western part of Mexico.) Like them a lot. The chorizo has just the right amount spice and they get it nicely cooked. I just wish there was some more of it as I get bites with no meat. Guess I should order extra next time. There's not much to the atmosphere, and the TVs at full volume aren't my cup of tea. Service varies based on the number of people there, so my advise is to try to avoid the prime times. It's a good option, just wish they could work on the dining room experience a little.
Tasty Tacos. Lopez is one of many tacos y mariscos trucks lining the stretch of Nolensville Rd. between Harding and Old Hickory. It's an easy-to-miss orange truck with some neon accents stationed in front of a red brick house.
I tried the shrimp and carne tacos, and found both to be very satisfying overall. They are served on what I believe to be soft, corn tortillas, which tend to get soggy if not eaten immediately. The meat and tortillas are served with tomatoes, finely shopped onion, cilantro and longer strips of grilled onion.
The tortillas are smaller in diameter than the tacos shells I'm familiar with, but the meat and vegetables are served generously, so a pair of tacos makes for either a large snack or a small meal.
The menu featured what I assume to be fairly authentic Mexican fare such as tacos, burritos, tortas and tostadas, with most dishes coming with the choice of about nine different styles of meat. A review below says they only take cash, but my debit card was accepted without issue.
Deliscioso, lengua (tongue) melted in my mouth. Real mexican, south of Nashville!
Excellent. The real deal! Cash only.
I hate how great this place was. If I could, i would rate them higher. Customer service was fantastic. The food was amazing. I'm already planning to drive the hour to come back soon. Totally recommend l. The spicy pork was amazing and not spicy at all ended up eating three of them and the barbecue was amazing at two
Dining at Tacos Lopez was nothing short of a delightful culinary journey through authentic taco variations. With five types on the menu for the evening, each brought its own unique flavor to the table.
1.) Asada Taco: This taco set the tone for the evening. The Asada was grilled to perfection, tender with a smoky hint that danced on the palate. Its seasoning was just right, a perfect marriage of spices without overshadowing the meat.
2.) Spicy Pork Taco: A feast for those who like a kick! The spicy pork was tantalizingly fiery, yet beautifully balanced. The heat was robust but didn’t overpower the natural flavors of the pork.
3.) Carne Asada Taco: Slightly different from the Asada, the Carne Asada was robust and richer in its meatiness. Every bite was juicy, and it seemed to melt in the mouth. The flavor profile was deep, hinting at marination that must’ve taken hours.
4.) Chicharron Taco: A delightful change in texture. The chicharron was crispy and crackled delightfully with each bite. The flavors were deep, salty, and had a lovely contrast to the softer tacos.
5.) Carnitas Taco: Last but definitely not least, the carnitas was a revelation. Tender, pull-apart pork that was both savory and slightly sweet. It was clear that it had been cooked with care and passion.
Throughout the evening, service was impeccable. While I didn’t get the waitress’s name, her attentiveness and knowledge of the menu added significantly to the experience. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she ensured our dining experience was smooth from start to finish.
In conclusion, Tacos Lopez is a must-visit for taco aficionados. I’ll definitely be back for more of their mouth-watering delights!
I always have a great experience when I come here. The energy, music, and smells of the food remind me of my trips to Mexico. Everyone is always friendly, the food is incredible, and the prices are great. My only complaint is the location. It is not the easier to get in and out of.
I had chicken Asada. It was tasty. Fast and courteous service. Unique drive thru experience.
Great authentic Mexican Taqueria. I have however notice recently that they charged me a different price every time I go there. I always tip very well. Some days I'll get the same thing without tip that I got the week before with tip.
Soooooooo good!!!! You won't be disappointed! Wonderful food and even better service!
Great hole in the wall with authentic street tacos. Quirky way of ordering, but you get used to it the more you visit!
Good food at decent prices. Always the late night spot!
Visited for dinner while visiting family in the area. Hit the jackpot. We got a variety of tacos. My favorites were tripa and al pastor. Tamarindo drink was good too. 🤩
Small place and small parking lot, with big flavor!!
