Got a takeout from food delivery services app, and they recommended “Gringo Chicken” as their most popular item so I ordered that. A friend of mine got the Fajitas (steak+chicken). I loved my food, it wasn’t as hot as I’d like by the time it reached my place but I’m very excited to try them in person next time!
Update 11/2023: ended up finally going there in person, and loved it even more.
Very excellent dining experience at Cilantro.
You'll get slightly better tasting food and cocktails at bartaco, but for the price portions and service, you can't beat Cilantro. We got steak quesidilla, guac and chips, chips and salsa, refried beans, rice, black beans, vegetable fajitas, and two cocktails for under 60 bucks! The food tastes authentic and home cooked. They do have a scratch kitchen, and they make a lot of the food to order. I'm pretty sure our guac was made by hand in the stone bowl that it was served in. I'll def be going back. The portions are super generous, and everything tastes really fresh. The black beans were really good they let the flavor of the beans really shine. They don't have super cool presentation like st anjeo butbthe beans are very good. This is a great place to grab lunch on a budget but still have a great healthy meal. Their cocktails are solid, but nothing crazy. They are all traditional Mexicana riffs on classics. Very balanced, but they don't try to re invent the wheel. I recomend the mango mojito. Travelers should check this place out and locals will love this hidden lunch gem.
This is a solid Mexican place. Good service, fresh ingredients, large portions, and fair prices. Mexican Street corn app would have been better if made with fresh corn on cob but still, we enjoyed it. Tex Mex Burrito was HUGE. Fajita bowl was a good lower carb option although it could have been more flavorful. Overall very enjoyable.
Love the vibe and the food. I got Chimichanga special which include shrimps, chicken, and beef. Chicken is my fav.
Also they have good margarita!
Total $20 I fee like it’s a good deal.
Def will come again.
Great service too.
Such a chill place to eat great Mexican food. The best chile relleno I have had.
You can't make a bad food choice here. The authentic Mexican tacos and margaritas on the rocks are excellent. Great choice of beers on tap too. My go to place.
Really dug this place. Recently opened. Came out in on a Tues around 1230pm and sat at the bar. The Margarita I had is now the best I've had in East Nashville. Got the Speedy Gonzalez lunch special (taco, enchilada, beans) for 6.99. can't beat that. Wasn't too busy, maybe 8 patrons inside. Staff was super cool, very friendly. I'd be back.
Great service! Loved the atmosphere! We ended up getting the shrimp ceviche was delicious but for tho who don't like the taste of too much lime it does have a very lime taste.
The salsa is GREAT! And drinks were very well made.
Price was about right for any place around east Nashville.
- my friend and I got seated, then no one took our order for 10mins, they weren't busy at all... food was good though.
Love this place can't wait to go back and try more dishes 😍
