Had to test out this style of BBQ, being from Texas. The inside is like an old school cafeteria. Choose your meat and sides. I decided to test their Brisket, mac n cheese, and jalapeño beans. The brisket was decent. Little more tough than I like, but the bbq sauce saved it. The sides were amazing. I would go back to test a new brisket and try new sides, I know not all briskets are cooked the same. Did bring back old bbq memories growing up in south Texas.
I recently visited this new BBQ place with my friend, and we had a good time overall. The service was friendly, fast, and accommodating, which was a plus. We tried a few different meats, including brisket, sausage, smoked bologna and turkey. While the brisket didn't quite meet my expectations, I found the sausage and bologna to be quite tasty. Additionally, my friend was particularly impressed with the turkey, which they said was cooked to perfection. Despite the mixed experience with the meats, we enjoyed the casual atmosphere and appreciated the attentive service. If you're in the area and looking for a decent BBQ joint, this place might be worth checking out
I got the combo plate. It had all the different kinds of BBQ meat on it. The onion sizes were generous. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Amazing experience all the way around. Walked in and was greeted with open arms and it being my first time they showed me everything they had and explained everything in detail and the food was AMAZING. I smoke my own bbq and am a tough critique and they knocked it out of the park. The register clerk even came over to hand me napkins after I sat down to make sure I had some.

This place is, by far, has the BEST BBQ place I've ever been to. I always go for the combo platter I work in and around Nashville, and whenever I'm near yall Tex's BBQ is where I go to eat at lunch
Everytime I come to Nashville, I got to eat at this place. If you like real authentic moist fatty beef brisket just like you live in Texas, you must eat here. The staff is incredibly friendly sociable and cut up with you constantly. The prices are downright amazing. I will always have BBQ here. This picture is a half pound of moist beef brisket with pickles and jalapenos.
I'm back and I came back. Tried the sausage and hot beans. You have to try the deviled eggs
Only gripe is the music was a little loud. Hard to have a conversation.
Ordered brisket/sausage combo. Coming from you walk up and can smell the barbecue. It’s not quite as woody smell from a distance as you’d expect walking up to a Texas joint.
Hey, brother!
As you walk in the door. Your server looks kinda like Matthew mcconaughey and mans the meat station.
Ordered smoked sausage and brisket. was expecting a bit more woody flavor on the brisket, but it’s still juicy (dry is kiss of death); bring out the sauce! Both sauces are kind of interesting…one has a slow burn, sweet bite. The other is kinda sweet and maybe I could’ve done without (sweet dee?)
Sausage, oddly enough, more flavorful than the brisket. So that’s good!
Mac and cheese more savory, which is unexpected. Could use a bit more kick.
Cobbler is not /too/ sweet, slightly sour. Quite good!
Two meat, two sides and a drink was 14.97
Would I come back? Yep! (More than i can say for the chains like Texas Roadhouse, etc)
Came here on the way to and from Lane Motor Museum…short walk away.
I guess this is how they do it in texas. My brisket sandwich was delicious. The sweet heat bbq sauce is on point. My buddies had the combo plate with brisket, pulled pork, and smoked bologna. The bologna was killer. That's definitely what I'm getting next time.
Great BBQ and meats, great sides. Good prices, friendly people. You cannot go wrong stopping here for lunch and I guarantee you'll be craving your next visit!
It doesn't get much better than good ole Tex. I've eaten lunch here over 50 times and I've never left feeling anything less than satisfied
