Had dinner there last night and was highly impressed. In the interest of full disclosure, I am the owner of the [1594167350834262:Buck Snort Trout Ranch] which supplies locally grown trout to City House, but even if I had no affiliation with this fine establishment they would be getting 5 stars from me. I of course had the trout and it was amazing. The whole trout on a plate presentation was very cool. I wish I knew how to add my before and after pictures here. There wasn't much left. The staff was one of the friendliest I have seen and many of them can now tell you where the name Bucksnort came from. Bucksnort Trout Ranch is very proud to be affiliated with this top notch Nashville destination. Well done guys.

My daughter and I went last night. She wanted to try something different. I have not stopped talking about it all day. First I choose to sit outside in the screened porch. You got me there. Brought my Old fashion with me from the Bar. Perfect evening. We ordered one recipe from each menu. First the scrapple. We imbibed it so quickly we forgot to take a picture. Second we got the Potbelly pork pizza? I think that it was called. A little spicey but the fried egg in the middle was great for dipping the Fabulous crunch of crust from the Pizza. We also had the roasted moist chicken served over snap beans. Melted in your mouth. Waiter was outstanding. Not pushy at all. Great suggestions. We will be back. The McKee dippers.

Our family had a double birthday dinner at City House recently and had a great experience! We love to our server, Emily, who took care of us through the menu. The appetizers were delicious, we got the squash blossom and the shishito peppers. The pizzas were all amazing, we got three out of the five featured. Highly recommend the one drizzled with honey. And get arugula on all of your pizzas! The cocktails were very good too. We will definitely be back!

Superb gourmet pizza with innovative combos. The pizzas were definitely worth the hype. Dough was nice and chewy, loved the nice kick coming from the house chili oil. Our server recommend the pizza with corn and leek, such unexpected but pleasant combination. Appetizers were just okay. Nothing stood out for us. Would definitely go back for pizza.

One of the best meals I've had in a while. Server recs were great, we did exactly what she told us and it paid off! Pizza with greens and breadcrumbs was so unique and the linguine was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend this place and will be back!

As a local, I come here frequently and have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. The food is amazing, staff is kind and attentive, and the atmosphere is wonderful. That being said, tonight my experience was very different. Our dish was brought out and after trying to eat it without complaining, we decided to ask the waitress for something else, she saw the plate and understood why it needed to be sent back and replaced. When it came time to pay the bill we were charged for the second pizza. The manager Sal came over, was so blatantly rude, and said because he saw that we had tried to eat the first pizza that he would not comp it. We were completely willing to pay, that was not the issue, it was the principle and lack of hospitality from the Manager that was extremely disappointing. He did not apologize for the inconvenience of waiting for a new pizza, became rude and defensive when we asked about the additional charge and we left very unsettled and offended. The waitress herself was so kind and apologetic. This has never happened since I have started coming here, and this negative interaction was solely based on the manager Sal and how we were treated as customers. Super disappointing and not expected from one of my all time favorite restaurants in Nashville.

I loved every part of my visit. The wine list is spectacular with some interesting Italian offerings at very good prices. The food has tons of character. Don't let the rustic presentation fool you, there is so much flavor here. The pizza dough is properly fermented and matured, and you can tell that from the leopardization on the crust. The flavors on the pizza are unique and balanced. My meatballs were also tender, flavorful, amazing. The baked ricotta in the small plates also exceptional and the desert made angry, because I wanted to be more hungry to try another one. Best food I had in Nashville. Best pizza I ever had and I had some pretty damn good pizzas from master pizza makers in my life. Love and respect for this place.

Had a great experience here, but ultimately fell short of 5 stars for me. The decor and setting of the restaurant lacks polish. We sat back by the single bathroom on the upper floor facing the street. There were electricians working in a utility room during part of our dinner and there was a lot of beeping. Then there is a visible storage loft up high with junk piled there. Finally the music was good but is done via a small portable speaker by the server station. Quaint but not integrated speakers into the surroundings. We brought our kids figuring the pizza offerings would satisfy them and they are pretty tolerant to try new things. But they complained about the limited menu. We ordered the most popular pizza with the egg on the center to start and it was good but not astounding. The fried cheese and potato appetizer people rave about didn't hit the mark with us. My son's pasta had too much fennel flavoring but the fish my wife had and my chicken with grits were excellent. They were very accommodating to make my daughter pasta with red sauce off menu. Sal was our server and was A+++. He chilled the white wine we ordered, answered lots of our questions, was personable and hospitable, and prompt. I don't know if I would return but I will say the prices are reasonable considering it is a high end eatery.

We came as we are huge Anthony Bourdain fans and foodies. This is a nice quaint spot a bit past Horizon Park. We sat up at the pizza bar. The main chef interacted with us and loved watching all the meals come out. They seemed to work a great flow in the kitchen. I was recommended a wine, 12 e mezzo. It was a nice red that every sip was smooth. We ordered the cheese pizza. Please do the sunny egg on top! Dipping the firewood crust in it is unbelievable! The little bit of char on the crust was the perfect amount. We also ordered the chopped steak, which came perfectly seasoned. The buttered bread underneath was crunchy but complimented the meat so perfectly. The texture, the presentation, all of it was absolutely perfect. This was a great dining experience!

Great place to taste authentic Italian food in the Germantown area. I went in with my colleagues and had a great time. Their service and the food were excellent. Desserts are to die for. Great sausage and fresh pizza.

Get the cake. There is always a layer cake on the menu. Often it is TN Waltz Cake. Sometimes coffee cream soda cake, peach icebox cake, sweet potato icebox cake, the christmas one, etc. It is the best cake I have had anywhere so if you go to City House and don't get the cake, you are missing out on one of the most delicious things you could eat. Also the pizza is phenomenal.

Easily the best food we ate in Nashville! We took a city food tour and our tour guide recommended this place for dinner. The cabbage appetizer as well as the fried cheese appetizer were two of the best appetizers I’ve ever eaten! And the pizza… Some of the best out there! Same room for the desserts!!!
