Owen's just recently opened for brunch and it did not disappoint. By far the best breakfast I have had in 30 years of coming to OBX. Blows all the competition away. Fabulous food with so much more than just bacon, eggs and pancakes that other places have. I had two eggs, grits, toast, fried chicken steak with gravy, and coffee for about $13. All I can say is wow!

First of all, Stephanie, the bartender up in the lounge, is AMAZING!!! Best on the beach. And, if you ever get there on a night when they have the stuffed mushrooms, do not miss out. They are the absolute best... you can thank me later. It's a very laid-back atmosphere up in the lounge. So comfortable and welcoming. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but what isn't these days? This is one place where you definitely get what you pay for though...big portions of delicious food.

Very good birthday dinner for our friend. Service is great as well as the food. Highly recommended.

Despite visiting the Outer Banks for over 50 years, this was my first time at one of the oldest restaurants here. The atmosphere and decor are outstanding. The food was excellent, as was the service. There is lots of maritime memorabilia in the lobby area. Allow some time to check it out. I wore shorts and a tee shirt, but business casual would have been more appropriate.

Lots of great places to eat at Nags Head & surrounding area. Owens is THE BEST. Enjoyed an absolutely scrumptious meal: Oysters Casino; Fried platter of fish, scallops & shrimp (fresh, only lightly breaded, and perfectly seasoned such that the fresh flavors really took center stage); Filet Mignon with the best creamed potatoes I have ever tasted (and I was permitted only a taste b/c my husband loves them! Ha) and fresh broccoli; cream brulee (yum!), and so many crackers, hush puppies, bread, cheese crock, butter...
The atmosphere was welcoming and just beautiful. The service phenominal! The server that took care of us had several tables, one of which was huge and another seemed "high maintenance" (ha). She was most attentive to all of us, however. She kept our drinks coming, and always with a sweet disposition!
Highly recommend dining at Owen's!

Very happy choosing Owen's for our dinner this evening. The food was great, the staff were great and the restaurant decor was old-fashioned but cute and cozy. We ordered the escargot as a starter. I had never had it before and have always wanted to give it a try. We both loved it. I ordered the prime rib and my husband ordered the Seafood Mariner, which came with scallops, shrimp, and white fish. We split our meals in half and shared so we could both have a little surf and turf. Everything was DELICIOUS. I ate every bite. We got our twin boys the kid's Alfredo and that was very tasty as well. Both my boys chowed down. If you enjoy a cocktail, we both suggest the Peaches Punch. It was fruity but not overly sweet like most cocktails. It tasted like real fresh fruit juice. So yummy. Will be back in the future!

A little more upscale than we expected, we were a bit casual. A diverse menu with many tempting options, including many featuring local seafood. The staff was friendly, our waiter perfectly attentive. The restaurant was busy, and sound seems to carry as it was quite loud, the decor is fitting and comfortable. Sadly I found my food a bit bland, I got the bouillabaisse, the clams were excellent as was the base, the rest of the seafood just didn't have much flavor. The desserts were all excellent.

The food is delicious. A southern comfort style of food. The service is fantastic. The servers are friendly and familiar with the menu and food. The ambiance is old school yet comfortable. So far the food and service has been consistent and have updated my rating to a five-star.

We have been coming to the OBX for a long time. Unfortunately, for us, we have never been to Owens Restaurant. You do not see these kind of restaurants any more. You are warmly greeted when you first arrive. The restaurant is decorated with a lot of nautical items and what looks like history of the family. The hostess takes you to the dining area where you are seated and greeted by your waiter. The dining area is quaint and charming. White table cloth on the table with silverware laid out appropriately. Water glasses are delivered to the table as well as menus. The waiter describes the specials of the day. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and items that were not on the menu.
We started with the local fish bites (flounder, delicious!), fried calamari, and Thai-style pork winglets (tonight's feature). The winglets were delicious. We also had a cup of clam chowder.
For the main course, we grilled Halibut which came with vegetables and mashed potatoes. the Halibut had a light tomato-based sauce on one-quarter of the fish, pesto on the center quarter of the fish, and plain on the last quarter of the fish. This was delicious and enjoyed by all at our party. During dinner, our waiter brought a basket of bread and corn muffin balls. Our waiter was very attentive to all our needs. Drinks were refilled/ ordered as needed. Empty dishes were removed when they were no longer needed. After dinner we had leftovers. He brought a tray with containers and promptly put our leftovers into the containers so we could take them home. He then brought a tray of desserts. He also told us an item the chef makes that wasn't on the test which is a strawberry shortcake. We ordered that as well as a Creme Brule. Everything was amazing, and delicious. The atmosphere, service, and food were fabulous. The food is simple but delicious. We left full and happy. I gave the rating of five stars. But should be 4.5 or 4.7. I will have to come back and see how consistent they are. I am assuming they are consistent considering how long Owens Resturant has been around. They also have an upstairs lounge with live music.

If you want top notch service in a old school restaurant Owens' is your spot . Call early because they only take call ahead . We waited about 20 minutes but were quickly and had drinks and apps ordered in about 10 minutes. I started with the wedge salad , it was one of the best I had . My sons had Ribs which were just fall off the bone and delicious. My other son had coconut shrimp and he got a ton . For my main I went with the king cut Prime Rib , this Auju was hands down the best I've ever had and the meat was perfectly cooked with green beans and Garlic smashed . The desserts were just as amazing, the keylime pie and creme brulee were great . Definitely make Owens' your big family dinner out while in OBX
