Came for the view and left because of the hostesses attitude. The view is great and they have an excellent beer menu. The seating is comfortable and the servers are delightful. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is the hostess. She is not around when you want to be seated. She acts like she doesn’t want you here. I’ve been here for 15 minutes and watched her just walk away from people who have questions. Rude.
Fish Heads Bar & Grill is genuinely one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. We were sat on the pier during a beautiful sunset. The atmosphere can not be topped. The food was fantastic. The fried fish and the crabcakes were to die for.
Overall, if you are looking for a beautiful beachside dining experience do your self a favor and got to Fish Heads!!
We decided to check Fish Heads out as it was within walking distance from our beach house. We got there around 8 on a Saturday night, but were quickly seated. It was cool and windy outside, but the main dining area was quite comfortable. Beer selection was great! When we asked the server about wines, she stated red, white and rosé. Fair enough!
Stuck to a cold beer and the blackened tuna taco special. Everything came out hot, fresh and delicious. I would definitely go back.
We have gone here the past two years while on vacation, and have been highly satisfied both times! I ordered the blackened baked fish sandwich with fries and it was delicious. We also ordered the fried shrimp with cheese fries and it was also excellent. There is a significant wait time here, so plan accordingly. They had a live band here this time which was really nice.

Staff 10☆☆☆☆☆, Food 2 😫😫 We absolutely loved the staff! We went one night after 9pm,the kitchen was closed, so we just sat at the bar had a few drinks and yaked it up with the bartenders, who were fantastic. It's located on a pier, which is a separate charge if you go past a certain point, so the view is right over the beach and Ocean. Lots of seating around, very fun place. We loved it so much we went back the next day for lunch. Unfortunately neither of us liked our food. I got a hot dog, comes with no sides, so added a side of fries. it was so drenched in mustard, you couldn't taste anything else. It was soggy, that I had to eat it with a fork and knife, but after 2 bites, I was done. The fries were on point though. My wife got their tuna tacos, but same, they were so covered with a sauce. She asked for them not to blacken the tuna, but when it came it looked like they did. When we asked, they said there is so much seasoning on the grill it just seems like it is?? Hate to see that grill. We loved the layout and people so much, we would definitely go back for drinks! Would maybe try some different food items and see if the 1st time was a fluke.
I loved this place! Located off the fishing pier, you can sit outside and watch people fish and gaze at the ocean while you’re dining. I had the special southwest burger with cheese fries and it was yum-O! The staff was very friendly and the service was quick!
I love going to Fish Heads Bar & Grill. They have the best grilled tuna bites with a sweet chili dipping sauce. It is an appetizer but can be eaten as a meal. I also recommend their bacon and cheese fries. A unique atmosphere as it is on the fishing pier with views of the beach. Quick and great service, always!
For us, worth the trip! We drive 100 miles door to door from Belhaven, NC. We love the special location, atmosphere, view, friendly staff & delicious seafood tacos!!! It's our go to for a getaway & excellent experience !!!
Absolutely love this place! Their fish is fresh and delicious, and shrimp is so good! Really can’t beat eating fresh seafood on a pier overlooking the ocean. I got their mahi tacos, but over rice instead of on a flour tortilla, and absolutely recommend ordering that way. Large portions and great prices.
The queue to get in here says it all - great casual food overlooking the beach. The tuna bites in particular were a big hit with our party. Great service too!
Only disappointment was that they don’t serve cocktails. A nice margarita on a hot day would have been perfect!
