Read about Scammel’s as being one of the top ice cream shops in the Outer Banks on trip advisor. It was really good! I had the cookie versus peanut butter and the blueberry cheesecake ice cream which was tasty. My friend had the caramel cheesecake cookie monster which was awesome! My other friend had the cookies and cream which she really liked. You have the option to get a brownie on the bottom of your ice cream for an added cost. I was being a fat boy and did it! Haha Cool atmosphere right across the street from the beach!
the service and ice cream were both extraordinary! i can’t recommend this place enough for anyone who wants some incredible ice cream and fun souvenirs! i believe they have 45 flavors of dairy ice cream, and typically 8 of the non-dairy flavors, totaling to over 50 types! additionally their prices are incredibly reasonable for the amount of ice cream, not to mention the quality of it. i tried the honey roasted peanut butter as my first and only sample and i knew i had to get it :) DEFINITELY a must if you’re in the area!
This place is so cute!!!! Kinda different that it’s tied in with a surf shop but it works! Got the Cheesecake Carmel Cookie Monster and holy smokes was it yummy. Others in my party got peanut butter vs cookie, and moose tracks. Both delicious. So happy we tried this out before we departed
Wow - neat experience, great customer service, and great ice cream! Went here in vacation with wife/kids. The place was packed but the line moved fast, so don't let a long line discourage you.
We got single scoops, and they were very large. Very patient employee as my kids made their choices. Go into the door on the right, the left is exit only as we (to our slight embarrassment) discovered. All Hershey’s ice cream, and all very good.
Delicious ice cream, friendly service, and all proper covid precautions (masks, distancing, sanitizer, etc) are in place.
Our favorite flavor was Cookies Vs. Peanut butter, but close behind that we’re the Heavenly Hazelnut and Graham Central station. Definitely give it a try. Lots of GF options and several DF ones too!
Amazing staff who went out of their way to treat a couple of outsiders like they were locals. Truly appreciate their knowledge of everything surf and their ice cream is top notch as well!
Fun store. Lots of neat stuff inside. Great selection of Hershey’s ice cream. Xs on the floor for waiting in line to keep distanced. Very friendly staff.
Great place to get ice cream.. . We did, every night lol. Walking distance from our rental. Supper nice scoopers, cashier lady could.have smiled a bit more but everyone had a bad day. . . Bad week? Lol either way they have lots of flavors and fun atmosphere.
The banana pudding ice cream was one of the best I ever had. Plus, the workers were really nice and friendly. 😊
