Green Mill

We had stopped here one other time and really liked the choices and flavors. Unfortunately, this time didn't come off as well. Our virgin marys tasted like tomato juice with no kick. I'm afraid i balked at my meal because the meat was mostly fat...like a very thick cut bacon. I can imagine some people enjoying it, but the texture and grease involved didn't work for me. However, i loved the sauce which was SUPER spicy to make up for my virgin mary. The person with me had nachos from the appetizer menu and really enjoyed them. The service was also very good, attentive, and multiple people were around to ask how things were. The only thing that bothered me for that was when i responded that i didn't like the meat, and it wasn't for me, there was no remorse shown...no apology, nothing. I didn't expect a discount or a free meal, but it would have been nice to know that the staff cared if a diner wasn't enjoying their meal.

The food was good, but the service left me disappointed. The server was a new server. We only knew that when the hostess came over to help with payment. The server was not that bad, could have been more attentive to drink replenishment but given the fact she was new that was forgiven. The manager was not friendly and had no service recovery skills. We were in a large group. 4 people out of 15 did not receive their food. The whole party was completed with their meal before they got their food. One late dish was a salad without cooked meat. It seemed like this new server was left on her own without any help, she did her best and I hope she sticks with it. The manager was the most disappointing. In that role we expected better. The late meals were free however that is not the point. The point is to eat together as a group. The bar was understaffed as well, the tap beer was off line which was disappointing. As a person that does not eat out often it confirmed to me that eating out is not worth it.

I really enjoy both my time and the food at Green Mill! Everything is so full of flavor, and the atmosphere is calming and enjoyable! I am a bit disappointed at the minimal options for vegetarian replacements, but that is minor when compared to their full menu! I would definitely recommend this place to anybody (but especially to large families. Get the Pizza and Wings special!)

I am giving this one star because the food was actually good. The service on the other hand was awful!!!! We arrived and were seated, there was hardly anybody in the dining area, we had ordered our drinks and dinner and then waited a total of 52 minutes before receiving our drinks. At that time we actually got water with the drinks we ordered. A few minutes later we got our food, so here we waited a long time to get our drinks and food and then the waitress decided she had to add 20% gratuity to our bill. Never ever will we eat there again!

Good food but waited 50 minutes. We chose the Green Mill Wausau on a Tuesday evening to eat dinner for date night prior to attending a movie at the nearby theater. We arrived at 5:50pm thinking that would give us enough time to enjoy chicken wings, french fries and a drink before our 7pm movie. We ordered immediately and finally received our food at 6:40pm, just enough time to slam down a few pieces of our food and then rush to the movie. We had to get the majority of our dinner to go and were disappointed because we didn't think of bringing a cooler to store our dinner in the car in the summer heat for 2 hours while we watched the movie. The poor waitress was running around trying to settle down other customers who were complaining about how long they were also waiting for their food, and the restaurant wasn't that full, maybe 3 other tables. It's pretty bad when you have to ask for a to go container and pay for your dinner the second it is delivered to your table. On a good note, the wings that we were able to eat tasted pretty good, so 2 stars for food and waitress. Allow yourself plenty of time to sit in the restaurant if you go.

Typical chain restaurant. Service was merely adequate for your table of 8, especially considering it wasn't that busy. Food was okay but bland. Even for what should have been a flavorful and spicy shrimp and pasta dish. Was relatively expensive as well with most plates around $15-18. Averaged $20 a person. I wouldn't necessarily go back.
