Excellent chaos and wonderfully delicious with lots of care (brings memories of Egypt back) ๐ค๐ป
I got their Somali chicken shawarma with malawax (crepe) along with a cocktail juice. Wait was a bit long (20 min) but completely worth it.
Definitely a good one to go to if you arenโt in a rush and want to sit and relax :)
I have been here several times for Somali tea, which is amazing! I finally had lunch and it was delicious as well
All around great business, and Black owned, to support.
Customer service was lovely from beginning to end. I was given recommendations for pairing with the coffee I ordered.
Upon walking in you can smell the wonderful aroma of the medley of foods available.
I ordered a Chai Latte and a Caramel Latte, both tasted superb and I highly recommend them. Iโm not sure what food option I ordered but itโs a must try.
Ok this is an edit about 3 months after eating here for the first time, and I still think about their chicken shawarma to this day. They use a crepe as the โtortillaโ (for lack of a better word) and it is heavenly.
It is always better for local business owners to think bigger than just serving their locals. I am from Texas, but formerly from Minneapolis a decade and a half ago. One of the girls working here, I should suggest she be trained to serve customers better. I have been in this business couple of times and the way she interacts with customers is not what a hard working business owner should have accepted. I asked her a very simple question, a smaller cup of a tea and she said " I only sell in this size", a size of 12 or 16oz. An earlier day I ordered a chicken crepe and a tea while in the office in the back visiting a friend. She said "You have to come at the front to place the order. I will not take your order". I also have witnessed her talking bad and ignoring customers while they are ready to place their orders as the community members are there to support their local businesses.
My feedback is not to hurt the business, nor putting this employee at risk of being fired, BUT I am just suggesting to the owner to know and observe how his/her business is being ran!
I love the tea and other delicious foods that are served here, just serve it with a smile and hospitable way.....
Great experience! Everyone was very friendly and kind. The food is delicious, and very reasonably priced as well. I got a couple sambusas, a smoothie, and a piece of cake, which were all yummy. Definitely coming back!
The best minority coffee shop in South Minneapolis! If you are in and around the Twin Cities Minneapolis and St. Paul, don't forget to stop by and ask for a Somali Tea or the best Sambusa!
Customer service was great and very friendly!
I tried the chicken shawarma and mediterranean salad. Both tasted very fresh and flavorful. The value and portion sizes are great for sharing, or leftovers. I also loved the Somali tea. Amazing restaurant and people :)
Just went here for the second time tonight and it lived up to the expectations I remember. I got the chicken tandoori with salad, a Somalian tea and an avocado mango smoothie. Everything is delicious. Both the first and this time the owner came out, Scot, and he gave me and my sister free Somalian tea and Somalian coffee and sambusas. Highly recommend.
This cafe has the best tuna sandwich and Somali tea in the town. If you are in the Seward neighborhood, please give this place a try. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. The owners are super friendly and the staff know what they are doing. Thumps up for Capitol Cafe and their crew๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ
