Went for the Friday Fish Fry! Hand breaded and all you can eat. When I got there they were doing a turkey bowling competition. Lots of free prizes given out. A decent tap selection. Liquor is not an option but they do serve wine!

Out walking on Thanksgiving. Had a couple hours to my self. Cardinals in my neighborhood. I stopped in because AMAZING!! They were open and serving breakfast. Nice relaxing soooo friendly atmosphere. I've heard their Burgers are fabulous and they have BINGO.

I like this low-key bar for breakfast. Great friendly service with good, normal, hearty food at a very good price, conveniently located by the rail. Enjoy!

This place has it all! It is wonderful. It is not fancy.
Pool tables, pull tabs, sports, beers, great food. Their ham and cheese sandwich is perfect. They also have waffle fries. Can't wait to go again and again

A nice place, good atmosphere with really good food (hamburgers are the best) customer service where they make you feel at home.

Great food, friendly staff and a nice relaxing and welcoming environment. The fries and Cajun onion rings are fantastic. Family friendly.

I was drawn into the Cardinal because of feel that surrounded the outside of it. A hub of activity with public transportation dropping all sorts of human conditions off from busses and trains but also bicycles, cars and bushes too! A bit dark and dingy inside. More restaurant than bar and only beer for alcohol I had forgotten that these places were still around. A couple of domestic pints rang in at $8.50. It wasn’t crowded but their set really only has 6 or 7 seats at the bar and flows right into restaurant seating with chi a bit off to me. Service was fine with that little bit rough around the edges charm coming raising others kids for most of life. I’ll swing in another time. Maybe take the train and check out their food as they’ve been around awhile so something’s been done right.

Great dive bar. The burgers were good, and the pitcher prices are great. There's some decent pool tables in the back as well.

This is a surprisingly welcoming bar for children. The staff really makes my toddler feel welcomed every time we come here. They always bring out a surprise for him (color book, stuffie , or something like that). Artistic kids get their creations added to the "Kids' Wall". The cliental also seem to enjoy kids and frequently chat with him too. I highly recommend stopping by.

A DELIGHTFUL DIVE BAR! We were visiting the Twin Cities from Milwaukee - looking for a typical bar with a Friday fish fry and the Cardinal popped up on Google. It's an old run down neighborhood bar with billiards and kareoke next to a light rail station and the huge grain elevators. They offerred all you can eat battered fish for $15.95 but that did not come with a side of soup or sald and fries, just cole slaw and regular fries. The regular menu fish comes with 2-3 pieces of fish, soup or salad and choice of potato for $10.95!! It was a delicious bargain! The fish was lightly battered, crispy and nice thick chunks of cod or haddock. The clam chowder had more clams in it than most and the sweet potato fries were great (4 choices of fries from regular cut to crinkle or waffle or sweet as well as tater tots no extra charge. My wife had a turkey, cranberry and blue cheese salad that was a full meal. She said it was great. The eating area is well lighted and family friendly. Beer and drink prices were reasonable. Super friendly patrons and staff. This place is an old school gem. We will not miss coming back at our next visit.
