Conscious and intentional bar staff and cocktails. Love the direction and the challenge of making food and drink for a (what I can only assume is) diverse clientele. Love you all!
Great food, very relaxed environment and good wait staff. The view on to the sculpture garden will be fantastic once the renovations are complete this June.
They’ve switched up the menu recently and have more affordable pricing options and more ‘common’ choices with a fresh taste like salads and sandwiches. They have coffee and tea and a variety of drinks along with a full bar.
This place is fantastic, everything I’ve had here is excellent and fresh!!
Fantastic patio!!!! Ugh!!!
Great location, exquisite food, friendly staff. Located in the same building as the walker art museum and next to the sculpture garden. Esker Grove is a great place to go for brunch. It isn’t busy at all during the morning but it can be in the evenings or during peak hours. I highly recommend eating on the patio. Ask for the vegetable hash for brunch and any of their cocktails in the evening! Cody our server was very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend for anyone visiting Minneapolis.
What a romantic place during a Sunday brunch snow storm! The wait staff were knowledgeable and friendly. We tried all of their recommendations, the French toast, croquet madam, potatoes and fruit bowl. Delicious and filling. Modern decor. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking a beautiful snow covered patio and sculpture garden. We truly enjoyed our dining experience.
We had a table of 7 for brunch, and the service was great. The server described the dishes we were having trouble deciding between, which was pretty cool of her because we had a few them. And the food was amazing! I will definitely be going back for another brunch.
Brunch destination. The Croque Madame was fantastic! Also recommend the French Toast, which comes with duck confit and fresh figs. It sounds like an odd combination, but it's spectacular. The quiche was also delicious, so rich and velvety. And they have cocktails so creative, they can only be served in an art museum. You don't have to pay to get into the museum to eat here, but the Walker is usually a good time and they now serve alcohol apparently, so it could be fun.
One of the best patios in town; great view and the ambiance of the patio is perfect. Service is top notch, and the food is delicious as well. Cocktails are also amazing!
Great place to grab a eat, even better for drinks before a walk through the museum or garden
Pros: great service, everything was delicious - definitely the best nochi I've ever had! This is a very nice place with a very modern feel.
Cons: they take their time. We were waiting about an hour from when we ordered to when actually started eating which kind of ruined our evening plans of touring the museum. They have high prices for their small portion sizes - which made me laugh when the waiter said "no - you're going to get a lot of food we don't play that game".
Awesome, awesome joint. Food and drinks are superb. The staff is great and very friendly. They’ve got a really talented and knowledgeable bar staff, who are fun to talk shop with (particularly re: mixology) if that’s your jam.
It’s easy to run up a big bill if you’re not careful, but everything I’ve had here is superb, so it’s hard to say the prices aren’t fair. (But I usually try to limit myself to one or two small delights per visit.)
It’s a great place for drinks or a light dinner before a Walker event, but plan to show up a little early in that case because everyone else attending the event wants to do the same thing, and the small space fills up quickly.
Also, I love that you can take a drink “to go” to any event on site.
What’s even more fun, though, is to just come hang out and eat here on a random non-event day when it’s not busy. Then you get the full attention of the great staff, and it’s a fantastic environment to loaf in for a bit. I love bringing out of town friends to Esker Grove on an afternoon, and then wandering the sculpture garden after. (Also, Walker members get a discount. So you should be a Walker member! It’s a great deal if you come to the center more than twice a year.)
In short: a superb joint, absolutely worthy of the Walker, and worth visiting entirely on its own merits.
Not as out of reach as you'd think given the location. Open Table. There are usually some bunch seats to be had on the weekend. Always something obscure on the menu, often not too fancy, just neat. Best donut holes ever. Nice brunch booze. Bright views all around. Not too loud when busy. Staff are fun and ready to walk you through the menu. Oh, it's a super cool space! Just go already.
