I’ve had the same thing both times I’ve been. Have to admit I look for a time when it’s quiet; yesterday mid-arvo was perfect. Corner spot in the sun and, after about 3 hours of shoveling, deserved the best strawberry malt I’ve had (since he last one); thick (but not so you couldn’t enjoy it), leftover served alongside, maraschino cherry for that little kick of fake goodness. AND a single, delicious pancake the flavor of which I can’t begin to describe. What a treat!

The Hi Lo is absolutely superb! I had wanted to drop in for over a year, finally did so And it was truly wonderful! Teriyaki vegetables for my wife, crispy chicken sandwich for me. Drinks, Daquiris for her, Brandy Old Fashioned Sours for me. Just like we drink in the remote Wisconsin forests! I warmly recommend this place!

Food size was huge! We got the Gary cooper, however, the fried chicken part didn’t match my preference. (I prefer the one more juicy.) We also tried the smoke salmon with Benedict which was pretty good! I like the atmosphere here. Pretty relax and comfortable!

My husband and I went here for the first time the other day to try some place new. He loves diner food and old school atmospheres so I wanted to surprise him. I saw that the food had amazing reviews and was better compared to Mickey's Diner. We started off with the Beef Gravy Fries and they were PHENOMENAL!! We laughed and giggled the whole time about how our tastebuds were on a journey that day lol.. For our main entrées we chose the Hash stuffed Hash with amazingly tender corned beef inside.... makes you drool!!! The Fish and Chips, their classic house French Toast, and their signature Gary Cooper donut which is a large glazed donut topped with 2 large slices of very very crispy fried chicken and drizzled with some amazing white sauce/gravy stuff that is vegan. We had such an amazing experience with EVERY dish and were not disappointed at all. Our server, Nicole, was AMAZING! She was so attentive and helpful because my husband doesn't eat pork. She gave many recommendations because she was pork-free as well and also gave him substitute options. We love servers who know their thing about the menu items. At the end of our meal she had such a blast with us that she made us her own signature coffee/root beer shot and gave me a freshly pressed shot of grapefruit juice. She was AWESOME!!! This will definitely be our new date spot.

This place is really nostalgic! It is super cute inside. We came in for brunch on a Sunday and only waited about ten minutes to be seated. Service is great. Roxy and her daughter were so kind and you could tell they loved working there. Food was classic for an all-American breakfast! I personally didn’t like their “donut” dishes. It was more of a scone than a donut in my opinion. However, I thought everything else was awesome. They even have root beer on tap!

Great vibes, great food. Get the disco fries. Then get them again. Got the Gary Cooper as a chicken and waffle substitute and looooved it. Will come back next time I’m in Minneapolis!

Love this little diner! There is a modern retro feel. I highly recommend the Gary Cooper. They really have something going here. I go anytime I’m in the area. Tex max burrito is solid as well.

Cool place to eat, food was good comfort food. The servers were very friendly and made us feel valued. The Garry Cooper was interesting. We really enjoyed Alexander Hamilton ice cream cocktail. Very addictive.

Got the corned beef hash which was enough for two meals. So was the donut, a very worthy dessert! Fun atmosphere and you won't leave hungry

Great dinner with the back in the day look and feel of dinners. Reminds me of Mel’s Dinner..if you remember the show…lol Food was good, ordered a burger and fries. Nice outdoor patio.

Hi-Lo is a local favorite. It’s nostalgic and relaxed, staff was always good to us. I recommend the breakfast burrito.

The food was excellent! Very loud inside, the place was packed. Some people just need some Comon courtesy and use an inside voice. It's definitely not a reflection of the restaurant service was fast and friendly
