Wait staff was top notch! Attentive and friendly! Lots and lots of games to choose from that you can play at your table. Really fun drink specials and themed foods. Great craft beer list. Food was good but kind of standard American Staples. Burgers, tots, Mac and Cheese. Well prepared but can add up to be a pricy bill . A really fun place to bring friends and stay a while . They seem to have different events every week to keep things fresh and interesting.
The cheese curds are amazing here. The atmosphere is super fun and cool. The gaming theme is seriously a blast. Great food and great drinks definitely willing to make the 2 hour drive from Chicago to come back to just go here.
The environment is very cool and including. You could play Smash Bros at the bar or play a board game at your table. The Atlas Mac was wonderful and so was the Bard Burger.
Incredible food. Creative and inspired drinks! Comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Great staff, not pushy or hovering, but always willing and happy to help! 11 out of 10! Would game again!
Great birthday spot for a group of friends! We had a group of 12 on the bottom floor sitting at one long table. There were lots of games to choose from downstairs as well as more located upstairs on the main floor. There's a second bar downstairs where we were but it didn't need to be opened. Bathrooms were very convenient for us as well, not far away but not too close to be unsightly- they were a few steps up and around a short corner. The waitress was attentive and welcoming. The bar itself is along The Hop line. I would love to go back some time!
Food was amazing breakfast tacos and loaded tots. The building choice fits the pub vibe. Atenitive waiter.... Otherwise had fun with karaoke weds. :)
Had a blast enjoying the chill gaming atmosphere and awesome fun drinks. Our server was so fun and conversational, it feels like a community rather than just a bar.
Amazing Food! Love the atmosphere! The butterbeer was yummy, as was the Sorcerer's Mac. The best wings and cheese curds!The Stay Puft Marshmallows were addicting!
I organized a 30th birthday party at Oak & Shield in their new location. I worked with Lynn, the pub’s manager, by phone and email to plan the party, and she was very responsive to our requests. The lower level space was perfect for a private event. Servers were friendly, and food and bar service was excellent. They have a good selection of games for a variety of interests, so guests were having fun the whole time. I highly recommend Oak & Shield as a casual event venue!
This place is amazing! The atmosphere is cozy yet open and the food is next level! Definitely check out their cocktail list and if you're feeling fancy grab a midnight society or just sit back with some butter beer!
